As soon as I saw the post I was thinking Denilson. Hard to get past him really.

Decent article, would agree with Denilson.

Maybe you should open it up to individual clubs and their record signings?

I'd probably say Di Maria for us in that case, wasn't he our record signing at the time? Worked out even worse than Pogba that one

What about Carroll?

Sanchez... Those wages... Even less impact than those mentioned above

Had no idea Denilson's stats were so poor

Didn't read the record transfer bit... Ignore

On the pitch, denilson. Special mention to torres though

A mixture of on and off the pitch though, the circus that pogba has around him and the negativity, i've never known anything like it.

Lentini at Milan? Think it was a world record at the time

He won trophies but i thought he looked awful for them... Then had a pretty horrific car crash and drifted away from the top

Ours would have been Sissoko until he absolutely beasted last season and carried our midfield. A turn around of epic proportions.

Maybe Sergei Rebrov, thinking we have got the next Shevchenko

Robinho?

Left him out. Man a had life changing car accident, not fair.

Still left with 3 league titles, a CL and appeared in another CL final.

Oooh actually Soldado was pretty pisch poor.

I highly doubt Denilson would have had other offers, he was rotten and on a wedge at the time.

He was around for so long because nobody wanted him.

Neymar and Pogba are the worst for attitude, Neymars off the pitch and Pogba on it.

Kaka's legs aged about 10 years over 1 summer but at least he was a nice guy.

Kaka was so good to watch at his best, real shame how things went for him.

Sissoko is starting to get unnecessary praise from spurs fans. Guy was decent last year, but still pretty poor on the ball and was the reason spurs lost a CL final. In 37 games for club and country last year he got a measly 3 assists and didnt get a single goal, and hes a box to box/attack minded player.

We can re open this thread next season to talk about how bad our signing of Neymar has been for £205m when he kicks off next year to get his move to Barcelona.

I'm quite happy to do a straight swap with Pogba in full knowledge we'll have to sell Neymar to Barca/Madrid next summer.

Nick if you saw him the year before you'd be praising him an all. He couldn't even trap a ball or make a short pass. He went from a shambles to dominating midfield, breaking up play and getting the ball forward to Eriksen/Dele/Son.

Admittedly though there is a lot better out there than Sissoko which is why we have gone and got Ndombele.

Man caused the car crash by driving at over 200kmph though... It's on him so its fair

He still got medals though i suppose altho as a squad player... But still... A world record substitute is a flop

Yes, the good thing is he knuckled down and worked hard, and in the end, he was crucial for us with injuries we had

He should have buried that chance at Anfield too

He's just learnt to play box-to-box ffs give him a chance
