Well that wasn't very good, was it.

Another problem I see on the horizon is the weather forecast for most of August which isn't looking great..
this could be the only result there is, am hoping am wrong of course

There is literally 1 world class batsman on show, and 5/6 bowlers. I would be surprised if any match was a draw unless over a day is lost. Whichever team is under pressure in the last innings will buckle.

That would mean no oppurtunity for Smith to score more centuries in this series?

Pathetic from us

Bowling performance aside, our batting on the 3rd day was probably where we lost the game.

280-4 we should have been looking to get 400/450 minimum which would have all but guaranteed a draw in worse case scenario. Losing 6/90 on a 3 day pitch that wasn't doing anything was incredibly poor.

And next test is at Lords, where we are very strong
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All this time I've been glad we weren't at Lord's first up, cos it's basically like gifting them a 1-0 lead. Now, though

Woakes averages 10 at Lords with the ball though

That's the spirit. You drunk again?

The silver lining, I suppose, is that we didn't seem scared of their quicks like in previous series. Course Starc will come back at Lords and that'll all change

But even Cummins was impressive without being utterly unplayable.

Our much-vaunted lower-middle order (bats 6-8) scored a total of 24 runs between them in this test

No more crowd left to boo Smith now. All cheers for him.
King Smith just owned the English crowd.

Stokes batted at 6 and scored a 50 in the first innings didn't he?

Buttler, Bairstow and Moeen though who probably should be our 6-8 were dire with the bat though.

Anyone else think Michael Vaughan is such a kn@b? He's already writing us off saying we have no chance.

It's a wonder we ever won an Ashes series if that's his mentality.

Will be seen as an excuse but it will be a good one, losing Anderson early was a big reason why eng lost, still surprised at the level of defeat, see big changes ext test for England

You're right, my mistake. I forgot Buttler came in ahead of him.

Point being, Bairstow Buttler and Moeen scored 24 between them. Gash.

On paper, Australian lineup is outmatched and outclassed by this Eng team.
Has every potential to be a world dominating team for next decade if they find a quality spinner( swann's level would do)

Are you serious?

I know it's very easy to say it now after an embarrassing defeat, but I felt it was quite OTT at the time and forgot to respond.

2 days 22 hours ago, it looked like that.. But I should have known better than to forget what a champ Australia is at Cricket.

Aussies are always challenging, but I think it's more how you've overrated the English side we currently have

The "we bat to number 10" claptrap I've been hearing for so long has meant nothing once again.

Losing Anderson wasn't easy, but to get smashed for 146, going down without even a hint of a fight, that's not good enough in my eyes.

Australia was saved by Smith. If not for him, it was an easy win for England.
He was chanceless too, I couldnt even remember any faulty shot.

told u guys, England are in for real battering, too much bang bang will cost them in long term. India can help u win the world cup but againt Aus u need to be a legend.
