Good article Robbing. Although as mentioned Arthur is a key first teamer so highly doubt he will leave. Don't think they would consider letting Semedo go either.

One problem with such a debt is that the clubs mostly over value their assets. So its amazingly difficult to buy from them. They never reduce their price to sell because that actually 'realizes' their value as a loss on the balance sheet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Malcom and Rakitic apparently going reasonably 'cheap' though. Think Malcom would be a good signing for Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You really don't know how much they are asking for those players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I should have written "reportedly" instead of "apparently" maybe but what with this being a sports debating site I thought it would be okay.

havent they already sold players for about a 100m? they got 30 million for their reserve keeper from valencia.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't actually know they had sold Neto.
And I appreciate that makes no sense what so ever.

Nothing we wouldn't normally expect from you then VC

Yeah I could have taken more care but he actually only started 19 league games that season. You'd expect that to change as time goes on of course but if we went in with £90m or something would they be able to not take if if they cannot shift the more likely targets in Coutinho and Dembele?
Tbf though it's more about who would fit who.

Sums up the state we’re in though
Perhaps we could call this “The Maguire Paradox”.
Lenglet to spurs i'd love. Especially as Vertonghen nears the end of his career

Not dissimilar players really.
Semedo may fit Spurs if they sack off Trippier or Aurier. Not a fan of Rafinha but maybe him too.

isn't Umtiti also in the firing line? He has beef with the manager.
Barca seems to be unbalancing their team they don't need grieseman at all.
Who said Barca are skint anyway?
They're run by the state and are immune to FFP. Money is not an issue.

I don’t think Barca are quite in financial dire straits - have net debt in the region of EUR500m, a massive turnover which will allow them to secure further loans/bonds in future if they need to refinance even relatively quickly, and are fan owned, which means they could always draw on their members for assistance in dangerous circumstances (although granted, this wouldn’t be a popular move ).
They have to be careful though, and it looks like they will need to sell some key on-field assets in the next few windows. Part of the issue with this is that their most valuable on-field assets, don’t necessarily have such a high resale value or cannot be moved on.
They won’t sell Messi; Suarez, Pique, Busquets, Alba, Rakitic and Vidal, some of their key players, are all the wrong side of 30 and in the main on serious wages.
So they have a choice between bringing a little cash in whilst losing important first team players, with the sole benefit of reducing the wage bill a little; or bringing a bit more cash in by shifting some younger players and potential, whilst seeing the already ageing squad age further.
I think Coutinho and Malcom will have to go, and they’ll have to hope they can recoup better money than I’d expect they might receive for the pair. Any remotely sizeable offer for Suarez or Umtiti you’d have to think would have to be accepted.
I’m surprised you’ve not suggested that Coutinho would be a good fit for City, Robbing. That’s be a no-brainer for me.

Yeah possibly. I've not listed City for any tbh but that's more to do with pressing needs of teams and let's face it, City don't really have any!
Would love a player like Arthur. The very definition of press-resistance
whats this bawlocks doing on the Chelsea board, you havent mentioned any as a fit for Chelsea and you know why. Cheap shot or low intelligence which is it?
Probably shouldn't have tagged Chelsea...
