For context: City are spending to replace ageing big players in their squad eg Kompany & Fernadhino.
Spurs bought no one last summer, finished in the top 4 and got to the CL final.
Our squad is comfortably stronger that Spurs at present.
If we don't buy this summer it does not automatically follow that we will drop off.
I trust Klopp's judgement pretty much. I think we'll be City's only real challengers again.

I suspect Woodburn may like the good life a bit. To not be able to get into the Shef Utd side is a bad sign.

Have you guys lost hope in Woodburn?

I have.
Shame, he is still only 19 though, maybe he can show himself to another loan.
Reminding me a little of James Wilson, he was deadly for us in the u23s but it never worked out for him on loan.
There are loads for a lot of clubs really. Nemeth, Pacheco, Suso, Coady, Ayala, Rossiter. The list goes on.
But mostly they've gone on to have good careers and I'm proud the club do that.
There is a website somewhere which lists how many youth products each team has produced and then gone onto have careers in the football league. Utd and Liverpool lead the way I think.
Woodburn lacks the pace for the wide positions.
He could develop in a quality forward in the same as Firmino. He has the technic to receive the ball in tight spaces and linking up the play.

Indeed, the chances of being an academy player at a top club and making it to the first team are slim.
I hope the likes of Greenwood and Gomes make it at United.
you mean hes been prone for impact injuries, rather than niggling muscle issues, ala sturridge, lallana

Sterling was already a standout from his QPR days.
hence why we bought him i guess
Suso only didn't work out for us cos he didn't fit into Rodgers system. Not because he was a bad player.
Texiera was the one i was excited about. Remember his cameo against Fulham on 2013/14 season and we all thought the Xabi had been created. Done nothing since.
oh forgot about him, just looked and hes only played 45 games at age 26
Bring Cout home and we’re sorted.

Op...I think Liverpool's youth is going to kick on massively this season, brewster and Curtis Imo will come in and they deserve too. Hover looks brilliant too..Let's not forget AOC and Gomez are also back, I cannot wait to see us start the season.
its be nice to think that we can solve issues, especially around full back, out of our own resources.
klopp has signalled his intent and challenged the kids to step through the open door. tjey have to do that not him
You just never know with young players. Watching Jordan Ibe in our youth teams I thought he was better than Sterling at that age and would kick on. He didn't. Sterling did. If two come through from the current crop that's a win in my book. Even one ala Trent is a win. Time will tell.
