For me yes polls don't mean much as people say different things.
aka sure you like the brexit party (if so inclined) but would you give those mad nutters control of your taxes.
its fine sending them to europe to act up and disrupt as a protest but would you give farage your taxes.
And its the same for Johnson v corbyn.
People will be thinking very much about themselves when they pick someone in a GE.
For all I know the youth may have already moved on from corbyn's flip flopping and all all piling on green as the new fashion.
After all europe or no europe thats just politics and their courses in paris or barcelona for uni... but saving the planet... thats BIG.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When it comes to the crunch, Brexit aside, Corbyn has some very decent policies that resonate with a lot of the public, especially the younger community. Most people myself are not that worried about ideological hatred of the European Union. Contrary to the opinion spouted out by the hardline Brexiteers, they do not impact on my life one iota.
Prices for Gas, Electricity, Water, Transport, Housing, Community Charge, Decent NHS and Public Services most certainly do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Policies that have been tried and failed in every country that attempted them. Hard line socialists policies in a modern service based economy would be utterly disastrous. That's why the young like them, they haven't learnt their history yet

Thing with this is that at least he is showing he knows how a negotiation works.....rule out No Deal, have a movable Deadline and the EU will never renegotiate the deal because they dont have to and there is no consequence to them.
Having No Deal as a genuine worst case fall back, and having a firm deadline to agreeing the deal will force both sides to negotiate, and that is what achieves the the best outcome for both sides. If we show weakness, the EU will simply exploit that and we wont get any sort of deal we want.
There has to be a element of bluff in a negotiation if you truly want to end up with something that you are happy with. I can't understand why so many politicians are wetting their pants about a possible No Deal, it only serves to reinforce the EUs negotiating stance because some here appear so desperate to avoid it that they'd agree to anything to make the scary no deal go away. Take it away and the EU have us over a barrel.

That’s if you consider the Soviets and the Red Army to be socialists, in the sense you are describing. They were Bolsheviks. Under the purges in the 1930s millions of innocent men and women went to labour camps or were systematically and arbitrarily killed. If you are crediting the ‘socialist’ Soviets with victory then it’s only fair to consider these sane socialist mass murderers.
I’d also point out that the USA played a key role in turning the tide in Western Europe and in the defeat of Japan. And they were clearly not socialists.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If not for Pearl Harbour, The Yanks would have been nowhere the War, they forget all about Europe for the first two years. Yes, they assisted, but had the Red Army not been battling the majority of Hitler`s Army on the Eastern Front, then they would all have been switched to the Western Front, and the outcome would have probably been very, very different. The Red Army were absolutely key in winning the war.
With respect Sandy you haven't addressed my points at all.
Yes America did not enter the war until 1941. However America's industrial might pretty much meant that Germany was fighting a losing battle, regardless of the impact the USSR made. Additionally America was responsible for the final surrender of Japan.
My main point however was that the Soviets, while 'socialist' by definition, were not these benevolent socialists as implied by your earlier comments in the article. They were hard line Bolsheviks and Stalin cared little for the suffering of his people. So while they were instrumental in the defeat of Nazism, I think its fairer to say that the defeat of Nazism, if we are attributing this to the Soviets, was more due to a country led by radical Bolshevik murderers, rather than socialists, as you assert.
I'd also point out that the Soviet Union joined the fight against Hitler in 1941 as well, so they were late to the 'part' along with the USA.

No deal is the far worse for the UK than it is for the EU. The EU holds all the cards in all scenarios.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely.
It’s mind boggling that the Brexiters still haven’t fathomed that out yet.
Bet then again, they are a cult and should be treated as such.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ll take socialism over fascism, which lets face it, is where we are heading.
Lest we forget?
You already have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup mate, I think some have too easily forgotten the disaster of Facist Countries like Italy, Spain and Germany pre war. If not for the Socialists the whole of Europe would have probably fallen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you seriously crediting socialism with the defeat of fascism and the Na zis ?
Come on Sandy

1) Parliament will never allow a no deal - there are Tories who have openly said they will bring down the government before they let that happen.

And thats the problem with this government and politics in general its just one massive joke feel sorry for anyone who takes an interest in it and thinks their vote matters etc.

The Socialists played a massive part in the downfall of Nazism. Everybody seems to think Churchill won the War, when they conveniently forget that without the Red Army defeating the Germans on the Eastern Front, the War would have probably been lost. The Socialists played a massive part in winning the war, absolutely be silly to deny that.
