But the fans weren't happy even after two years. At the end of season 2 all they could talk about was Sevilla Sevilla Sevilla. They couldn't get over that one result and ignored the rest of the season.

I'm glad that the fans seem to have been humbled further by last season but there's still a way to go.

He’s got such a victim complex.

I don't think you can argue with anything he's said. The Maguire thing is hilarious as well. Mourinho asked for him, Woodward said no only to go for him a year later when he realised Mourinho was right all along. man Utd fans won't talk about that though.

Jose had already been backed to sign 2 CBs and failed to get anything out of them, how many more can he have until he got it right?

Woodward is a cant. Martial is a cant. Lingard is a cant. Rashford is a cant. Pogba is a cant.

Whole club of cants.

And yet you're going after the CB Mourinho recommended in the first place. Funny.

Solskjaer hasn't already signed 2 CBs and failed with them though, so you can see why he might be given a chance to sign one.

But you're saying you shouldn't trust Mourinho's judgement because he signed two CBs that 'failed' (Isn't Lindelof starting now btw?), but then here you are trusting Mourinho's judgement and trying to sign the CB he wanted, showing he was right all along.

Don't think you've thought this through.

Woodward didn't think it through when he hired Jose in the first place and then proved he was brain dead when he extended his contract

Firstly it's not me, it's Woodward, who we all know isn't the best.

What I'm saying is if he had already signed 2 cb's then wanted to spend another £80m on a 3rd after failing to get the best out of his others yet, and basically casting them aside, you might understand why he'd be reluctant to give him funds for another. I wouldn't expect Ed to know from a footballing point of view whether Maguire was the right man or not, that's the problem with him essentially being DOF.

If Solskjaer comes in and also says he wants Maguire, he fits in to his plans and system, then maybe it's changed Eds mind, who knows. Maybe Jose was right for wanting him, maybe Jose should've gone for him before Lindelof or Bailly.

Woodward thinks nothing through. It’s evident in everything he does..

So it’s because of Mourinho we want Maguire? Ffs I hate that priiiiiick even more now. Facking us over even after he’s left.

OK, I understand that, but it just shows in hindsight that Woodward should have listened to Mourinho and signed Maguire because this is the second manager that's wanted him. It shows that Mourinho was right all along to have wanted Maguire.

He finished 6th with the 6th best team in the league and won two trophies before finishing 2nd with the 5th best team in the league in season 2. He did definitely overachieve with the squad he had.
