Whilshire the most overrated player ever?

I have seen many players and no one has quite struck me as Wilshere, except Messi when he was also Jack's age. He's got the charisma on the pitch which makes him stand out.

I gotta say Rooney was helluva player at 18, but he never reached his potential with media hype.

But with Jack I think he'll handle it. He is by far the best U20 in Europe.

He will become a legden and become best player in world one day.

Not sure about that. The best in the world are nearly always forwards. Jack will probaly not get to the level of Xavi or Iniesta and those two are not the best in the world.

Oh my days. I cant belive this

People saying Rooney didnt reach his potential because of the media hype then at the same time going onto hype up Wilshere exactly the same way Rooney was hyped up.

By far the best u20 in europe????????

Best player in the world one day????????

By far the best u20 in europe - Name someone better.

Best player in the world one day - That will not happen so i agree with you on that.

Na I reckon he could be best in world. Why? If he performs his level best media will go ott, meaning it'll get ppl to vote for him.
Remember Beckham being voted 3rd best??

Oh yh I say Europe not world. Neymar is probably best U20

Balotelli

What do you chaps think of Ramsey?

Id say he's the better prospect.

Balotelli?

He might have talent but Wilshere actually went out on the pitch and did it week in week out. Balotelli is not even in the top 10.

I joke about Balo lol

Wilshere is good but nowhere near the hype he is receiving. Remember what happened to a certain mr bentley who neglected u21s because he didn't want to get too tired. Went downnnhill from there. Someone who's 19 shouldn't even be thinkin about getting tired.

Wilshere is a first team player for the senior team,Bentley was not. Also Jack has played way more games then Bentley did. This was his first full season and by the end of it you could see the kid was out of gas. Wilshere has played nearly 50 games. That is more then most senior players.

we keep hearing how he held his own against Iniesta and Xavi and thats ultimate proof he is world class.

Bosingwa held his own against Messi dont make him world class.

Whos Whilshire?

What is it people don't get about the word 'prospect'?

A prospect isn't about 'what's he done?' but about the raw skills that could turn him into a top class player. You only need to watch Wilshere a handful of times to see that he's something special as far as English CMs are concerned. He's probably the most promising central midfielder England has produced since Paul Scholes.

Whatever he achieves will depend on his own development and on the quality of the teams he plays in, but imo it's not ludicrous to say that he could go on to be one of the best CMs England's had for decades.

Best U20 in the world

Plus Wiksheres tackling is very bad, he seems to think of himself as some type of 'destroyer' which he isn't and his tackles are badly timed and malicious.

Jack Wilshere is the brightest midfield prospect for England, this is why he is overhyped by the English media!

What makes Wilshere any better than Henderson, Rodwell and Muamba? I suspect even Cleverly is around the same level as these players but McCarthy kept him out the team at Wigan. Wilshere hasnt achieved or done anything that pits him in such a superiority to these players IMO. And yes I know Thursday different types of midfielders but neither is majorly better at the job they do than the other. 1 goal and 3 assists this season is hardly impressive. Henderson has got 3 goals and 5 assists...

Stats,stats,stats....if you gonna talk about goals and assists, you might as well talk about passing accuracy, shooting etc.

Btw Wilshere has improved his tackling alot. He may mis time an odd one, but he is becoming a fine all rounder.

posted on 11/6/11

Even Rodwell has got more goals and less yellow and red cards and he's a defensive midfielder. Hendersons shots/goals ratio is higher than Wilsheres. And tge assists tells you what you need to know most of the time about a players passing.
