It's patience with the players that he's talking about too though. We can't decide to give Gomes, Greenwood or Garner, even McT the chance to prove they're better than Lingard, Matic or Fred, then if after a couple of months they're not good enough to have us sitting in the top 4 decide that's enough and either sack Ole or whatever.
I'm with all Lambeau 's optimism, except I quite fancy Williams from the little I've seen. As fast as James but finds the net more often. We really would have a pacy attack. Ain't going to happen though.

I sort of like Williams but he's not that prolific in front of goal. I just don't think he warrants that sort of fee.
Signing him would also surely prevent us making another attempt to sign Sancho in future windows.

Garner and Gomes have enjoyed international success at youth level. If they were foreign talents then our fans would be asking Ed to have a look at them I reckon.
Let's hype the kids we have at the club, instead of chasing the kids who are doing the same bits abroad.
A lot of people on here have said for a while now that Gomes - for example - is better than what we have in the first team. Let's put that to the test.
Garner and McTominay are capable of being better than Matic and Fred. Give them a shot. I think Ole will, and I think it'll bear fruit.
The fans need a team to be proud in, and pride doesn't just come from success (look at Liverpool and Spurs fans over the last few year - albeit Liverpool had success last season). If we challenge for top 4 this season, with 3 English defenders, and three or four English kids out of the academy (Gomes, Greenwood, Rashford & Garner) as well as McTominay and Pereira pushing for starts, I think that's a team worthy of our support.
Honestly, I trust Solskjaer over three or four windows to do what's right for the club in terms of signings, if Ed and the fans will show some patience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree completely.
But our fans showing patience?
Half of them on here are already launching their Barbies from their perambulators with gusto.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thing is, will garner, Gomes, greenwood, chong and Tuanzabe really be given chances?
Or will Ole stick with the likes of lingard, mata and Matic?
I suspect the latter unless a youngster forces his way in through injury or Europa.

I think they'll shine though when the chance comes.

Just going from YouTube that williams looks quality , seems to come in from the RW a lot. Could be a Herrera signing, Desperate and bloody expensive though,

I don’t think any of them are going to be starting PL games right away. And rightly IMO.
Gomes, Greenwood, Chong and Tuanzebe will all get plenty of chances though. And if they really deliver, they’ll be promoted. It’s up to them to force the manager to pick them.
Garner will have to wait though, I think. Which is a great shame, because I’d chuck him right in there. He has the tools, and he for sure - for absolutely sure - has the determination and temperament.

There must be something you're not seeing with Garner, or something Ole isn't seeing.
He's the direct replacement if you look into the academy (which is what it's for), for a position on the pitch we're at our weakest in, and by all reports (especially from you) he's putting in impressive performances week in week out and appears to have gotten all he can out of that level of football.
Why is he the one getting the least chances?

I think likely for the same reason you see loads of 18 year olds getting games up top and on the wings for PL sides, and next to no 18 year olds getting games at centreback or in holding midfield.
