i think can with the right coach ( klopp ) could have become a star player. he just thought he was better than he actually was. no loss for liverpool.
Too big for his boots. Shame
Just goes to show Liverpool quality< juve quality.

Replaced him with Fabinho. Worked out pretty nicely for us.
Emre Can cut from Juventus' Champions League squad
=======
.
Take that Emre.
I've some sympathy for the man. He thought he was better than he is currently - he's not alone on that one - and it's gone South for him since.
With us he was good but not exceptional. The biggest difference was when I saw him playing for his national team. He seemed peripheral when he came on, and stayed there.
No issue with him leaving. When he was at Bayern people questioned why he wanted to leave and he said he wanted to try other countries and leagues and to experience living in different places
He worked his contract with us and left without causing any stress.
If I was a footballer I’d do the same and try as many leagues as possible
You only live once
yeah, no animosity towards the fella. He was a squad player, he ran his contract down. No bother.
Probably would feel different if it was one of the big bioys who done it, but as it is...meh
I've nothing against him either but him being left out of the CL squad at Juve is funny, more so because we just won the CL.
U think Emre cares guys? I think.he got like a £100 signing on fee with Juve because he was a free...don't think he's hurting too much.

“The fact that I am not in the Champions League squad is extremely shocking for me, mainly because I was promised something different last week. There were talks with other clubs and one of the conditions for me to stay was to be part of the Champions League squad.”
“On Tuesday they phoned me and told me, in a conversation that didn’t even last a minute, that I was not on the list and they didn’t give an explanation. That does make me angry and furious because I think that I played well last season, above all in the Champions League. I really can’t understand this and will now see what I decide to do from here and I will seek talks with the club next week.”
Yeah. Shocked, angry and furious kinda suggests he cares a wee bit

No ill will towards Can but he struggled to make himself a fixture in our midfield, quite why he thought it would be easier with Juve is anyone’s guess.
Personally I think he’d be better served taking a step down in club, play every week and become the main man. He’s still got time to do that and then make the step up again.
Can was quite an enigma, he has phenomenal ability to drive the team forward, but sometimes he just switched off and looked like a passenger. I wasn’t that fussed when he left and if anything I feel a bit sorry for him now. I think he should move back to Germany.

This exactly
That goal vs Watford tho 😎👊
He was only about 10mil and a squad player so wasn't a major loss when he left
Sounds like Juve shafted him a bit but that's life i suppose
Great player who could boss a mf in numerous ways versatile and could be used numerous ways which is why i think klopp liked him even when he was leaving for free etc his issue was consistency and improving also fairly injury prone? Still think hes got a lot to offer if hes interested in the football side and not just money as it seemed when he left. Needs to move for footballing reasons next n get his head down.
Never disliked him even though he kinda did the dirty.
I recall an interview the day after he left saying he did so to win trophies - not because he liked the idea of playing in a different league (although I’m not disputing he could’ve said both).
Put it this way - he would’ve undoubtedly felt a sense of what if as Liverpool lifted that 6th European Cup.
Can played 30 games in league for juve and won the italian league.
So he's got a winners medal to go with the 3 runners up meadls he got with us.
I personally DEEPLY thank him for leaving cos we got fabinho.
I am delighted Coutinho left seeing Alisson and VVD playing for us.
No need to grind them to paste or take pleasure in their faliures. The money reinvested has really delivers us a team in coutinhos case at least. The gap can left lead us to bring in a proper player.

Keita is more of a Can replacement and that has gone very bad so far.
Fabinho replaced Henderson in the DM role so basically we are waiting for Keita to join the party before thinking we are better off.

I remember saying on here Keita had struggled and was told he was doing very well.
For the price paid he's been a massive let down.
Keita is a bulldog straining at the leash. Totally different player to Can. Injuries are holding him back, injuries I suspect he got for trying too hard.
Klopp wanted him and was prepared to wait for a year before he got him, that how much our manager rates him.
Imagine Jurgen waiting the same time for Can?
