Maguire did it in a lesser team in the same league (toughest in the world) surely he deserves it over VVD who had world class players around him? Has also done it at a bigger club than Liverpool as well now so has proven it at the VERY top level.

Not sure who that's aimed at but I haven't said anything about the Barcelona team.

All I've said is that Messi has been more influential in the majority of his teams games than VVD has.

If you honestly think VVD was better than Messi last season, fair enough.

I never saw VVD do what Messi did in terms of completely controlling the majority of games he played in and influencing the result.

He was a very important cog, but there were games when TAA, Robertson and Allison were better than him. He's a very important part of you defence and both he and Allison have taken you onto the next level.

No I didnt watch them all and at no point have I said one was definitely better, who should definitely win or give the impression that Id watched 100 Liverpool and Barca games because that would be silly.
