Like I said earlier robbing, messi should probably win it, just the influence he has on his team, I'd argue liverpool are better than this current barca teamc too, however nobody would begrudge van dijk winning it. Guys class

there wasnt that much outrage last year when modric won it(there was moaning about messi finishing 5th)

posted on 10/9/19

Therss always outrage somewhere, usually Twitter but modric winning it was bizarre to say the least. Varane had a better case

Has to be Matip for me. Was pivotal in a CL winning defence and pushed City all the way in the league. About time a defender won it.

Laporte has got a shout too. Played in the treble winners defence without a consistent partner. Got to the semis of the cl. Class player!

VVD should win it IMO. Superb player who have transformed Liverpool from top 4 challengers to European champions and title challengers.

Semis? Don't you mean quarters unless you mean a previous season I have forgotten about?

Has to be Trent Alexander Arnold. Or Robertson. Or Matip. Or VVD. They were the stand out performers in their back 4 and didn't really have any top players around them. They were the individual difference makers for their club in winning the CL. Along with Salah, Mane and Firmino who also single handedly led their team to a CL win. Along with Allison who should win it for being the stand out player in that successful Liverpool team.

Don't forget Fabinho who single handedly carried our midfield at times and protected the defence superbly..along with Henderson who also was a standout player once moved to the box-to-box role.

Has to be alisson

posted on 10/9/19

Alisson was our second best player last season imo. Very close to Van Dijk.

Has to be Henderson. The captain of the CL winning team. Provided cover for a weak back 4 whilst also supplying the needy forwards who cannot create goals themselves. He is the pin that keeps Liverpool together.

Henderson starting to get the recognition he deserves.

Immense vs Bayern and Barca. Love him.

He only looks good because he is carried by Wijnaldum, who deserves the Ballon D'Or for me for being that colossus in the middle of the park for the CL winners.

He's 5ft 7 so what's smaller than a colossus? I suppose it depends on whether we're talking X-men or Greek mythology.

Are you putting Luke Shaws name forward as Man Utds player of the year last season? I don't even know if Messi is out of his pocket yet Lol lmao rofl

Well along with Salah, mane, allison, Robertson and trent lol

Ah just saw Barry's comment. Truth be told though a fair few pool fans say how good their players are and then say that van dijk transformed them. They have a bunch of top players playing in a great system

United had a real stand out player last season. Liverpool did not. Liverpool's players were all on a similar level. Therefore, yes Shaw does deserve it more than VVD for being the stand out player with weaker players around him. Not rocket science.

I think most would say VVD is our most important player followed by Alisson.

We can manage without one of the front three fairly easily for short periods. VVD not so much.

posted on 10/9/19

But Salah, Firmino and Mane are equally important.

posted on 10/9/19

Don't think you could deal without salahs goals tbh.

posted on 10/9/19

Salah scored over 40 goals in his first season and we came 4th and won fvck all.

VVD comes in and in his first full season we clock up 97 points and won the CL.

Not an exact science obviously but if you asked me which Id rather have this coming season if I could only have one it would be VVD.

Don't forget that we NEED Trent's creativity as well.
