I was talking to a fellow #Treble2017winner at work this morning and he wants the long term success that Ole is trying to bring us through bringing through youth, as long as it brings success immediately. Not an unreasonable ask.

you should know all about that isn't that what you did with wenger
Even if Ole himself fails, he is taking a bigger picture approach to the position he finds himself in, imho. Himself, Phelan (and likely SAF) seem to have mapped out the blueprint for how they think they can get back to winning ways (Young, British signings... Academy players and, i'm sure, the occasional big splurge for the right player).
As you say, experienced managers and big name players have got us nowhere in the last several years, so why not take this time (with City/Pool so strong) to regroup in a sensible manner. If Ole does fail, I still feel he will leave the club in a far better place than he found it, as we are not buying square pegs for round holes.

Still here, signing in.
Just my opinion but it's pretty clear Ole is going to leave Utd in better shape (footballing wise) than when he found it bar getting relegated which he wont.
That squad was littered with problem from a lack of parity in wages to players wanting out to players simply not being good enough. He's took care of about half of that in one summer window.
Do I rate him as a manager? Not one bit from what Ive seen but let him take the bullet at the end of the season and ride it out as fans until then imo. The next manager will owe him a pint.

Still stand by the fact that Ole is the 'dof' we need aa seen by the targetted and purchased players so far. Whilst the his ability to adapt tactically is still suspect, the background work he is doing is better than anything we seen so far post SAF.

Did he not win molde their first ever title in the norway league. It's funny cos another manager had won a scottish league title when they were 2 stronger teams and we all know, especially you guys what happened to that man. I'm not saying Ole is the next ferguson but too early to judge him yet
It's far, far too early to judge Ole as a manager of Man Utd.
It's ludicrous, in fact.
The way people go on it's as if Ole has absolutely no plan, no footballing knowledge and no overall strategy. Nonsense.
The most likely issue he has at the moment is that he doesn't have the personnel to carry out the system he wants to play. That can only be improved by signings and development of youth.
That cannot happen after one summer, so judging him now is simply stupid.
There is one "fan" not willing to give him time yet was with Jose and Moyes until they were sacked.
I think, unlike other managers and has been alluded to in the OP and hoody, that he'll leave it in a better shape than he has found it. The only issue will be if the man replacing improves and keeps up the work he has put into place. We tore up LVG's plans for Jose and Jose doesn't put things into place for the long term just the here and now. It's why we're where we are. Short sighted and looking for galactico signings in players and managers rather than the right fit.

You guys need to let go of Fergie. It's not the 80's.
I could find you a long list of managers with similar achievements to Ole or even better, McLaren being one.
It's not to early to judge if you know your football. He's been in situ abput 40 games and there are some really rudimentary system errors that are not being addressed but have been apparent for 6 months.
