Ashley Cole definitely up the top.
Irwin played in almost 50% of PL history.
Dixon as an individual isn't up there, tbf. As part of the 4 yes. Lauren and Sagna were better, especially in the modern version of what a full back is.
Forgot about Lauren tbf DJ. Good, gritty player. That defence for Arsenal was beast
Cole
Neville
Heinze
Evra
Rooney
Young
Valencia
Just to name a few of the best
lol, tbf valencia isn't a bad shout either
irwin won the CL in 99.
for me the best fullback in PL history.
great defensively, good going forward, great free kick taker and was as good on the left as he was on the right.
Rob Jones was brilliant, such a shame he was broken, though Finnan was pretty good too.
Also, John Arne Riise, didn't do too bad!

Riise was the best of those 3, but still not top 5 for me, by some distance.

Won zero games as a full back
Is that still the longest run of games a player has played without winning?
Gareth Bale was originally a full back and he became so good he became a winger.

If we're talking best players who played at fullback at some stage of their career, fair enough. But in terms of a conversation for greatest full backs, no chance spurtle.
John Arne Riise is probably the only Liverpool contender.

If Jones hadn't been made of twigs he would have been right up there. For me I'd say top 3 would be
Cole
Irwin
G Neville
After that, there's a case to be made for many others.
Yeah dropped the ball really on irwin, thought he went to wolves earlier. For some reason always took a back seat due to the neville and beckham partnership on the right when mentioning that utd team.
As much as I don't rate him but Kyle Walker has not done bad.
The Fabio twins at United. Beat Arsenal with just them and John O Shea and Darren Fletcher up front

impressed me when he went to the back three for city and england, but I feel his time at full back (as an individual) has always been scattered with mistakes and inconsistency. I could be harsh, but i've always thought he was a weak link at spurs, at city and england.
