Aurier and Lloris - countless mistakes

Lloris is a good keeper of the last generation, he’s the type of keeper everyone wants in the 2007-2015 era. Now keepers need to be the 11th man literally distributing the ball

It’s like ball playing ability is more important than shot stopping now

Same thing being leveled at de gea, never comes off his line

Hugo's always been labelled as a modern sweeper keeper

There are people on here who have been calling for Aurier to get a run of games all season, well now hes had his run of games, let's move on, Lloris, our captain and leader has also become very unreliable, time to start looking around in the market

I think he's quick of his line and is clearly *comfortable* playing with the ball at his feet, hence the attempted cruyff turn.

Alisson got caught out for a similar thing last season I remember and you wouldn't use that as an example of how he's a traditional keeper.

The issue with hugo isn't that the game has left him behind or anything like that, he just makes a ridiculous amount of mistakes

Must be mentally then, needs to book some time with the local shrink

Generally a sweeper keeper is

-Quick off his line: check
-Alert to balls in behind the defence: check
-Happy to receive ball under pressure: check
-Good at distributing under pressure: NOPE

So close, Hugo. He's crap at distributing the ball under no pressure, when he's rushed he's even worse

Yes but Alisson learned quickly, he never attempted anything like that again, same with Ederson

I just don’t know why Lloris keeps making the same types of mistake over and over again

Just think he's a bit of an idiot who's shiiite at kicking and loves a big game howler ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because he’s not very good.

Because the team has won, so let's go after the players today, not the manager?
We all know Aurier is a liability but the ref didn't give him any benefit of doubt whereas the same ref allowed Saints players to get away with holding back our players, tackling from behind and deliberately breaking up the game and yet they barely got 1 yellow card, with their first yellow card coming very late on.

So although Aurier is a liability, the ref was very strict with us.

In the case of Lloris, keepers are known to have a moment in the game, and he had one. He did made amends with so many very good save.
1 Mistake and we want to throw our players to the lion den

Great!

Poch said to blame him for Hugos errors, because he demands that he does that, seems another strange statement from the master

The way some of our fans carry on, even winning doesn't seem to be enough?

Pochettino has taken the blame for Lloris' blunder today.
He said quite bluntly ..."I demand that he plays that way...so blame me".

""I don't want anyone to blame him; in this action I want the blame because I demand him to do what he was doing."

I said to my daughter before the sending off that Southampton had been pulled up for 3 professional fouls stopping our attacks and yet no bookings. Aurier may be a liability but it was our first professional foul and he gets booked and sent off. I do think refs treat us unfairly. Normally our first foul is a booking.

NO! Pochettino emphasizes keep ball from the get go. Lloris couldn't see anybody open and dillydallied around to the point of silliness.
It was Lloris' error but he made it doing what Pochettino asked of him.
If it was okay to just boot the ball lloris had plenty of time to do just that.

Beyond belief that Lloris who has had numerous howlers over the last few seasons not to mention drink driving (which seems to have been swept under the carpet) lifted the most recent World Cup.

The guy is an absolute prize t!t and I don't know how any Spurs fan could be behind him at this point. Far too comfortable with the #1 jersey and MP won't change that until absolutely forced to if he hasn't already gone himself.

Bit like Bruce Lee

"What's your style"

"You could call it the art of fighting...without fighting"

Which is a Spurs thing too

I was at the game yesterday, I, and everyone around me thought Sissoko is a far better right back than Aurier who is our designated right back?! Very capable. Obviously he won't be used as our new RB but if called upon he was alot less erratic and solid, had a good game.
