needs to work on his Cruyff turn
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Keepers should never try Cruyff turns at anytime. It only takes for the striker to stick his leg to mick the ball off the keeper. Though Lloris missed the ball completely, so if you can't even do it, then don't do it.

Stupid is what stupid does. Luckily he redeemed himself a bit after that!

The only thing a captain does what any other player can’t is a coin toss

This sums up why Spurs bottle every opportunity they get to win something.

No, more the dismissing of the importance of a captain’s role within a team.

What does wearing an armband allow a player to do that he wouldn't be able to do otherwise?

A lot of players thrive in wearing the armband. It gives them the responsibility to show leadership and drive their team on to achieve something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does VVD stop leading the team when Henderson is on the pitch with the armband on?

If you need to wear a little armband to inspire other people, you're probably not a very good leader

No but if you listen to interviews EVERY player speak highly of Henderson’s leadership qualities.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would Henderson leadership qualities drop if VVD was wearing the armband?

Who knows? He’s that respected by the club and his team mates that whenever he is on the pitch he is handed the armband. They know and trust he can lead them to achieve something.
Every team that’s won something has had a similar character.

Now... who do Tottenham have that can do similar? Is it what is holding them back from getting over the line?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a simple question would Henderson be different on the pitch if he wasn’t wearing the armband

Yes or no

Hugo has been in superb form this season, some great saves, kept us in a few games, can't think of any mistakes, except with the ball at his feet.

Now we've all known how limited his kicking game has always been. Even when we kick it long more often he lacked any sort of accuracy, so what do we expect if he's being asked to play as part of a back line knocking it between themselves while being pressed.

Surely we play in a way that suits our players and having Lloris as a ball playing keeper is like asking Son to play as a target man!

---------

we expect him not to do cryuff turns on the goal line when being closed down.

if no one in the defence makes themselves available then that's their fault... and poch should blame them... so hugo needs to boot it out of play... his nonsense on Saturday was bollox, unprofessional, and just a load of absolute shyyyte and no one to blame apart from him.

the man is a world cup winning keeper ffs, he should know better.

Didn’t Lloris pretty much do the same thing in the World Cup final?

For me it’s time he moved on next summer but no idea who’s could’ve enough to replace him

i think there are other areas of the team that are priority, but i have been questioning lloris for years now.

football has left him behind. when he came he was the in fashion sweeper keeper. now ball playing keepers are in fashion, and he just cannot do it

i do not understand how in 6 years at spurs his distribution has not improved at all.... not even a little bit.. its as if he doesn't work on it in training?
