yeah, that kind / level of injury, at his age, for a player in his position where you often have to put your body on the line is potentially career ending, doubt he'll play again at this level, if any level.
all because of 2 idiots.
As much his fault as the other two no?

Keogh is 10 years older than Bennett and 8 years older than Tommy Tuppence, how old were you when you started a family Shaun?
I feel very sorry for Richard Keogh, a legend at Derby County and I will miss him. It is the drivers of the cars who are mainly at fault for his shocking injuries. It appears that the pair of idiots left him in the car and ran off allegedly. Thank God we beat Brum, if we'd lost there would have been more repercussions.
Onwards and upwards with Chris Martin leading the line.
I wouldn't call him a legend VC.
He was club captain, he should have pulled rank & made them get a taxi at the very least, not got in the bloody car with one of them FFS!
That’s one hell of an expensive pi55 up. Reportedly going to cost him up to £2.5 M
I have a modicum of sympathy for him but would like to know:
1) Aa captain did he think it was responsible to oversee a massive pi55 up whilst sitting 18th in the league with 1 win all season?
2) did he, by all accounts, act like an absolute nob in the pub throwing hissy fits when his card was refused 3 times to pay the £806 bar bill?
3) was he wearing a seat belt? I somehow doubt it.. I gather TL’s car was covered in kit.. he has fractured his wrist, shattered his knee and, according to Cocu smashed his face in.
Utterly stupid behaviour for me - particularly when getting in a car with a driver smashed out of his skull.
Steve Bruce has asked if he can take Keogh's place in TL's back seat when he gets his licence back.
Cheaper than a nose job apparently?
Baz, if the credit card story is true, I guess he was too pi55ed to remember his pin?
Hard to feel sorry for him, I snapped my PCL playing football, I can barely walk for a week if I now try to play competitive football. He snapped his ligaments by being a tw4t and demonstrating poor judgement probably because he felt untouchable and indestructible as so many of these professionals do.
None of them suspended by Derby. Seems they’ll have to wait till the court appearances in October.

That was always going to be the case, just because the media report they are back in training, don’t believe for a minute they will walk back in to the squad before the court case.
tommo.i hope they don't walk back into the squad because after seeing them play brum on saterday I think we will be better without them
An ignominious end. Tragic really doubt he'll even get a testimonial now.

Testimonials are (or should be) a relic of the past. A fund raiser when they were on £100/week which helped them buy a pub (or a postmans bike in the case of King Kev).

Yes, I would be amazed to see them back on the pitch. It would go down very badly with the supporters and would be just the kind of distraction that Cocu didn’t need. I can’t imagine Morris has any intention of allowing them to play for Derby again. They just have to wait till the guilty verdict in a few weeks before they can officially give them the boot, I guess.
Well, it's all very unfortunate but totally self-inflicted. The club too don't come out smelling of roses. It was ever likely to be an explosive set of circumstances and the club should have supervised it better. Maybe they thought it was only necessary to have the skipper there and he would ensure common sense applied. It very clearly wasn't. Keogh was a great performer for the club but I think his career is now at end. A very great pity! Thanks Richard for all you did. Sorry for your bad luck. Enjoy your retirement. I shall miss your whole hearted tackles and blocks and your distribution going forward.
As for MasonBennett and Tom Lawrence, we shall have to see what transpires in court. If they are jailed, I don't know what the club position is. I expect they will be still on our books and we would want to see some sort of re-habilitation. And then - sell on as the opportunity presents itself.
Can we get a centre-half who stays on his feet after a tackle please?
Once found guilty - and as they were on a club-organised ‘do’ - I imagine they will be sacked due to gross misconduct.
The only thing to consider is FFP implications?
And Keogh’s testimonial

I've always liked him as a player but not as Captain. It gets pointed out on here frequently that many managers disagreed and gave him the armband. But then again they did farm Martin out on loan so what do they know?
