Xhaka and comfortably, pepe second kolasinac 3rd aub in 4th despite the goal he was awful esp opening 30 mins.
Pepe had a gd 5-10 mins towards end of the half where he looked to be growing into the game but that was it.
Actually forgot about torreira too jasus dno what the plan was with him was he your number 10? Didnt work whatever it was he was awful.
Saka by far best player on the pitch and guendouzi played alright too.
Look it was not Pepe night. But I have learned not to make instant judgements. Laca couldn't score when he first joined. Neither could Bergkamp, etc. Pires kept on diving. At the moment Pepe's transfer fee is weighing on him. He is trying to hard and making the wrong choices as a result. I'll give him a season like I give all new signings. He'll get better when we have better flow in the game.

7 games in plus Europa...I am beginning to worry. On form,Saka starts ahead of him. He is soooooo left footed that defenders just have to show him outside. Even if he beats them, he still checks back onto his left foot. You'd have to be Robben to be that one footed and still bamboozle defenders.
He’s timid and weak at the mo. He was up against a rookie, needed to show a lot more. His poor pass for Saka on the counter typified his performance. Needs to show a lot more.

I don't seem to recall Torreira doing anything on the pitch today, other than a couple of hospital passes to his teammates inside our box.

Zaha wouldn't have done much better. Until we can control the midfield there is no point blaming the attackers.
We conceded 31 shots against Watford. Watford are the worst team in the league at the moment. No team in the Pl has conceded 31 shots. Thats how bad we at the moment with the current CMs.

Midfield is an absolute joke at the moment. Would be tempted to give Chambers the job of defensive midfield over Xahka, Torreira at the moment.When everyone is fit would play Leno Bellerin Holding Louis Tierney. Chambers Guendozi Ozil plus one other depending on the game Lacazette and Abameyang.

The club spent the entire summer trying to tease a deal out of Palace for Zaha. He was always the first choice.
We only went for Pepe because Lille were the only club willing to settle for a £20m first installment.
Even £20m looks poor value...let alone spaffing away £72 faacking million...

What Pepe needs is some overlapping support. Just look at the way he holds the ball up just long enough to allow an advancing Chambers acres of space on the wing.
It's not enough just to pass him the ball and then wait for him to dribble past 4 players and then whack the ball into the box.

Pepe is a raw player adjusting to the PL. the price tag makes fans judge him harsher. Maybe rightly so, maybe not, but far too early to start digging him out and writing him off.
Xhaka on the other hand is a completecunt. He’s the captain, but I’m pretty sure I saw him duck McT’s shot that went in, give a stupid foul away on the edge of your box at 1-1, get his customary pointless booking in the centre circle and generally play like a complete plum. Work out the worst player on a pro-rata basis in terms of seniority, experience etc and it’s easily him. Making him captain suggests Emery would rather just get the sack now than wait to not have his contract renewed in June.
