I was sitting down at work today and just thought to myself how on earth did OGS get the united job.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Because the vast majority of utd fans wanted it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn’t make it the right decision though - even I was convinced at the time after the PSG game
But the reason these guys in charge get paid the big bucks is because they’re supposed to know better than us and make the unemotional decisions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've just said the powers that be are cynical barstewards
Bottom line is the fan base were starved of excitement under Jose and ole took us on the run beating arsenal, spurs and culminating in that psg victory. He got endorsed by sir Alex, cantons, Rio etc and most crucially by the fans.
If you wanna blame someone blame Jose
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The blame of past managers is pointless. They’re not picking Fred to be our #9 or Fred to start games or Pogba to be in a midfield 2 (anymore)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ive just answered the question on why ole is our manager
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I’ve answered why very soon he won’t be
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah you've mentioned 2 players that Jose stuck us with
One that doesn't want to be at the club and the other that isn't good enough to be at the club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to let the Jose thing go mate
Ole is ballsing up this job worse than any of our previous managers post SAF all on his own
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pogba and Fred are just 2 of the problems ole has to contend with.
1 transfer window isn't going to cut it especially when you have a caaaant like ed to rely on. There's a lot dead wood still to be sorted at least the next guy won't have to worry about lukaku and Sanchez
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least we’ll have a capable manager to try and approach the problem with

Funny he was more than capable on that winning run
Tactically praised particularly in that away win at spurs
Lets see what capable ED has lined up as his successor

You haven't looked at the bigger picture yet. If not for Pep or Klopp Utd could have hired in any proven manager (Jose, Conte, Anchelotti), throw some money at the problem and call it a day because money well spend gets you titles. Well guess what, project fear turns out to be reality and they find out it didn't work. Now what do you do as management? More of the same or trying something different? Obviously they picked the latter, and I believe management is on the right path. But I'm not sure Ole was the right guy to take on this process.

Ole’s sacking has a sign of inevitability about it. Our league position just isn’t good enough, even taking into account it’s deficiencies.
I hope he turns it around, as I’m sure most of us do.
Make no mistake though, Ed is a bigger problem at our club, no doubt about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem at United imo is there is no consensus as to what exactly the problem is. One minute the fanbase fully supports managerial changes, the next minute they want the manager sacked. Mourinho and Ole's appointments were hugely popular within the club (including the fans). To some extent even Moyes was a popular appointment. Mourinho as a person is a nasty piece of something, but I honestly think sacking him was a massive blunder. The club should have supported him in dealing with Pogba and player power, bring discipline to the dressing room, empower him to get rid of undesirable characters and bring in a new breed of players and rebuild the team. Since Mourinho first hit the big time, Man Utd is the only club where he failed to win the league within his first two seasons (or at all). Look at the managers who have come and gone at Utd since SAF left, they can't all be awful. Something is fundamentally wrong within the club and until that is identified and fixed the problems will continue.

That was more because he was from Chelsea, not because he was a poor manager.
Joses first two seasons were without doubt our best since SAF left and was probably the last time I felt we were relevant. His third season was poor and he deserved to be sacked but that 17/18 season will probably be the post SAF high point for a long time.
5 wins 7 draws 11 defeats since March 10th when that good start ended.
How has he still got a job exactly? We would sack Nuno for a run like that.

You can't be trigger-happy and expect to make progress as a club. Klopp's first season at Liverpool he finished 8th, but they stuck with him and now he is the best manager in the world.

After so many managers the chairman has to start looking in the mirror but as long as the financials are steady and going well he is doing a great job as far as he's concerned. Same goes with Levy.

United - Chelsea isn’t some bitter, nasty rivalry, we don’t care if our new manager was at Stamford Bridge in the same way they wouldn’t care if their new manager was once at United.
Fans were split on Jose because some believed his abrasive personality, 3rd season bust up, his brand of football wasn’t what was needed at United, others didn’t mind as long as it got us back on top.

Not to be rude but Utd being this shiiiiiiiiiiiiit has very little to do with Pep and Klopp. It's their worst start in 30 years and theyve not played either of us yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No offense taken. But I believe it has been Utd's downfall to try to cling onto the title contender spot when some other guys were already laying the foundations of a dominant era. In any other year Mourinho would have won the title when Utd placed 2nd and they would build on that sentiment. Now the last 5 seasons are perceived as failure and they basically start from 0 (literally for those who believe Utd will relegate this season).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your argument is nonsense. If they were third, you'd have a point. They're in relegation form, two points off the drop zone, in their worst start in thirty years and they have a manager with their worst win percentage in 40 years who has preceded over 5 wins in 22 games.
That's after a woeful recruitment strategy where the manager concentrated half of his £150m budget on a centre back when you already had four capable centre backs. Your issue was clearly in midfield and attack but the manager decided to spend in defence first, which could have waited.
Luckily for United Mctominay has looked like a decent prospect as otherwise you'd have a midfield of Matic, Fred and Pogba. That is awful. They don't work for each other, can't pass under pressure and they constantly lose the ball.
Then in attack you have two talented forwards, who have been played wide for several years and therefore need time to adjust again, if they are going to learn how to play a lone striker role against two top centre backs as most clubs in the PL have. They are also severely lacking in confidence and chances, due to the midfield being so crap. And a kid bought from the Championship who of course has a lot to learn. It's admirable that young players like Perreira are finally getting the chance but it may well be destroying them playing in this team.
The manager is very clearly out of his depth, has never done anything in football as a manager apart from win a couple of trophies in Norway and nearly get Cardiff relegated in consecutive seasons.
Clearly the club need to recruit TOOR.
He can use his stats to sort it all out.

Joses first two seasons were without doubt our best since SAF left and was probably the last time I felt we were relevant. His third season was poor and he deserved to be sacked but that 17/18 season will probably be the post SAF high point for a long time.

Who's the new guy?

5 wins 7 draws 11 defeats since March 10th when that good start ended.
How has he still got a job exactly? We would sack Nuno for a run like that.

Mourinho was 50/50 with the fans I'd say

Imagine actually thinking that was the reason fans were 50/50.

Can’t wait for people to be calling for the next manager to be sacked a few months after his appointment

This.
Basically, it’s now become a requirement that you turn us into a top team within half a season or you’re out.
