Robbing Hoody... genuinely had to check for brain damage. Lukaku's head was not with us he wanted to go so there would be sod all point in having that lump up front with even less effort than before. The club should have got another in, they didn't, we are now light up top. But we will get another one in it just can't be done overnight... unless we hoover up the free agent market.

I get that this is our worst start for 30 years, but only last year it was our worst start for 26 years. The point being this is not just out of the blue, we have had 6 years of terrible management from above... this is a necessary evil that should have occurred years ago!

Hi RDD
Why is a modern football fan so inclined to make judgements of managers part way through a season?
I'm sure it never used to be this way. We're so, so impatient now.
Irish red I AM NOT Red Devils Double. I was Giggs_deserves to be knighted, one of the very early ones on here back in the day, went off it and observed from afar so much so my account expired. Back again now as there is plenty to shout about and Robb talks too much, which is a bad thing!

We’re two points above the relegation zone and playing the worst football some of us have ever seen United play with no signs at all that a manager who’s relegated another club in the premier league has what it takes to deliver on his task.
That is why. Not a single club in the PL or the championship would hire Ole yet we did.
Don't you ever get tired of whining, Robb?

And we're not even a quarter of the way through the season.
It's just utterly absurd to take the league position after 8 games as the basis to sack a manager, particularly given the upheaval at the club.

I don't think everything is ok, far from it.
We're a complete shambles at the moment. But if we've learned anything so far since SAF, it's that just changing the manager isn't going to fix anything long term.
In real terms we are 3 points of 7th and are still 12 in the table not 19th. I can't say Ole is doing great and like many more of the sensible ones on here am not saying he will definitely be the man to win us league titles (sadly) but he can get us on a even platform to build from but we must get rid of the shower of a squad we have right now, he has started that process but will take more time. as Roy Keane said these players threw Jose under the bus, they will do the same to Ole.

Robb, that just isn't correct - 8 games into a season is not long enough to judge a manager properly.
But it's typical of football fans these days. A bad 6 months of football automatically means they need to be sacked.
And then we wonder why managers spend tens of millions on signings instead of trying to develop younger players.
I don't want our club to become like Chelsea but if fans like you get their way, that's what will happen.

If you wanna bring up Chelsea even they’re embarrassing us as Lampard is doing what we wish Ole would do - show some capability and a sign that he has what it takes. He looks like he knows what he’s doing yet people have absolute blind faith that Ole does
Robb, that is such a slanted view. That Cardiff team were rubbish, also managers such as Benitez have been relegated before... people learn, in football as in life. Ole has had 1 transfer window, where he has got rid of a lot of poo, signed 4 good players, we need to repeat that this season and next summer then we should then judge and not before. I'm talking about the Chelsea of the last 20 years.
Managers too scared to use younger players because the club demand instant results - so they just throw money at it and sack a manager as soon as they have a bad few months.
We'll see how their current situation plays out, as it has been forced on them. Again, far too soon to be making snap judgements about Lampard's performance and my instinct is they'll have a roller coaster season as well.

Furthermore this changing manager doesnt help long term is more spin. Yeah chamging manager every year arguably doesnt help but you only get a long term project successful manager by hiring one.
