Absolute of a game. Just a shame that Azpi's winner didn't count.

I mean ,
2 penalties,
2 sendings off ,
2 own goals ,and the referee and officials were completely bewildered !

We've been due a game of questionable officiating in our favor in the Champions League for over 15 years now. Believe me.

But yes Ajax were unlucky.

Arguably lucky to finish first half with 11 men. But whatevs u bitter

The entire phase in which 2 Ajax players got sent off and they conceded a penalty was the most disgraceful lack of common sense I've seen in a long time from match officials at that level. Staggering incompetence.

How would you have changed it? He plays advantage, blind should get a yellow. We agree at this point I take it? We then carry on, handball, definite penalty. Should he have been sent off? Probably not. Is that ur issue with it?

It was very harsh on Ajax, poor officiating is the norm this season

I would say the only doubtful part was the second yellow for hand ball.

I'm not so sure the yellow was for the handball. It seemed like it was given for mouthing off/not leaving the ref alone.

The ref ignored 2 fouls in the build-up - 1st on a Chelsea player, and the 2nd on Blind himself. The fraction of a second Blind lost when he was impeded is why he made the lunge in the first place. The penalty itself was borderline. By all rules of "deliberate handball", it was just an unlucky handball, but I wouldn't overly complain about that. But the triple jeopardy of awarding the penalty, going back to give Blind his 2nd yellow and coming back to give the other Ajax defender a 2nd yellow too for the penalty, all for the same phase of play, was a lack of common sense.

The only thing the ref got wrong was sending the CB off for the handball.

Think that's your bias speaking. Jorginho clearly fouled Blind just before Blind made that lunge while trying to call the ref's attention to Jorginho's foul.
Even the only decision the ref got "right" which I called borderline (the penalty itself) was hardly clear cut - except defenders are supposed to cut off their arms. Was a soft penalty. To then give another yellow and red for what was just an unlucky penalty (having already just awarded a penalty and sent off another player) was just insane. Stupidity all around from the ref.
