Probably the other team had a say in it or something.
In none of those situations did we have the best team.
Considering we've taken 131 of our last available 150 points, I'd argue the big difference now is that we have the best team in the league.
Personally I think it'll end up being very close, but I don't see City getting in the late 90s for points, but I think we will.
Could always blow it though, we have an absolutely brutal couple of months ahead which could be our downfall with a relatively small squad.
I hope last seasons run of was it 13 wins, and then to go and win the CL has given this team the belief they can go on and win the title.
Log way to go although I don't think city are the same team they were last season and December will test them.
Leicester and Chelsea will also have their say this season.

You have the best team and manager imo. Just need the injuries and a bit of luck. Best position to win the league out of all of the examples above

We have had our first choice GK and centre back out so far, plus injuries to a few in the squad so not exactly been a free ride injury-wise.
So why have Liverpool been so susceptible to bottling the title from dominant positions and will this trend continue or why will this season be any different?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The FA/EPL want a liverpool win. 30 years anniversary has a romance to it and they will see it as good for business.
injury wise liverpool have been pretty lucky over the last 18 months to a year.
will be interesting to see how well they would cope with losing mane, VVD, TAA or Robertson for a spell

Isn't injuries and luck what have hindered some of the clubs around Liverpool and given them the advantage they have though? If they lose the title because of an injury that will be the excuse when City have had their own injuries to deal with.
The seasons 38 games long, never understood this bottling a lead stuff, if the winners allowed you a lead early on theyve bottled it too? Doesnt matter when you pick up or drop points what matters is picking up more than the rest over a 38 game season nota 12 or 20 or 35.

We've also seen the squad player contribute in the past month which is good to see, Lallana off the bench get's us a point at Old Trafford, Ox and Keita (in bits) have come in and contributed as as Origi, we defo need these lads in some form for December where we play a ridiculous amout of games.
If we have a 5 plus points lead going into the FA cup weekend I will start to get excited!

so youve lost matip and Allison...
lets look at utd... pogba, shaw, martial, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Now mctominay... thats just a handful of players that are currently out or in martial's case has just returned.
while these players are not as good as those mentioned above they are vital for us at the minute.

the reality here (as its interesting)
1990/91:
a) arsenal lost once all year.
b) after hillsborough and all the issues Kenny broke down. It was only 6 months or whatever but he had to get out before he had a nervous breakdown.
here i think i'd rather grudgingly applaude george grahams anti football.
2002/03
A) the gap wasn't a real one due to game sin hand
b) We were not the best team.
c) houliier had made terrible summer buys and it came home to roost in novemebr
2008/09
a) again not a real gap. utd had 2 in hand
b) rafa made a serious error selling keane when he had no cover and keane had scored 7 goals despite being treated shamefully.
c) we lost/drew two games when gerrard and torres were both out.
given we were miles behind going to old trafford but trashed utd there to keep it alive. well...
2013/14
a) we were not the best team, not by a mile. We were winning crazy high scoring games all over the place.
b) lack of composure and hollywood thinking v cheslea pure and simple.
There was a bit of bottle in this one. Gerrard fell over but then decided to go on a one man crusade rather than play the game in front of him.
Same v palace.
2018/19
a) we finished on 97 points. No other team in england has ever done that except city
b) we won 9 in a row at end. city won 14 in a row.
c) we drew two games. Leicester and west ham. the end.
I think its disingenuous to city to claim this as bottle.
In the end most of the time sides were just better. once it was a better side and we bottled it.
in the end good decisions and keeping the team together is the vital thing.
Don't get the lucky with injuries argument given we've deliberately signed players who rarely pick up injuries and have individual plans in place for every single player to minimise muscle injuries.
The only lucky part about it is not picking up too many impact injuries.
