To say we’ve been lucky with injuries is so disingenuous. Clubs spend fortunes on the medical side of things. I’m sure there’s lots that goes into making sure players don’t get injuries. There’s an element of ignoring injuries our players have had as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Luck is big part of sport, life anything. Fatalism. You can't discount this either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arnold Palmer once said that he gets luckier the more he practices
It is funny how clubs that win things always seem to have more luck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we had it for years... and mostly from you lot, so stop the hypocrisy.. the late winners.. oh that was all to do with Fergie time and us paying off officials....now youre doing the same according to you lot its the sign of a good team
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will you seek counselling if we win the league?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i called you to win the league last season and this season.. so erm... no... good try tho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just because you expect something to happen doesn’t mean you won’t be gutted with it. Judging by your reaction to us beating your supposed hated rivals, you’re in for a tough time. You were in bits
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i was in bits??
whoever wins the league deserves it... far more important things in life than whoever wins the premiership.. i wont be losing any sleep if its you lot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i will
i facking hate liverpool, but this season is the only time where i cant begrudge them, they are just an outstanding team which is a result of excellent vision and planning by the board and expertly executed by Klopp, all of this in spite of Jordan Henderson, which alone is worth the plaudits.

He's a good mediator though by all accounts. Do that's nice.
The only thing stopping Liverpool this year is the squad depth. If Robertson, TAA or Firmino go down with a long term injury they'll find it tough. That's where City have the edge, just like last season.
Especially the FB's, I didn't fully realize it till I watched a few vids on YouTube of Liverpool's goals last year, almost 90-95% of their goals come from crosses into the box from wide areas (not just from the FB's). I'm amazed they didn't recruit adequate backups from both sides cos they need those FB's to stretch teams, fundamental part of their attacking gameplan, remove it and Klopp's got a dilemma.

Milner is excellent back up for both full back positions.
Haven't read the responses but think the OP is being a little disingenuous with this.
Unless you're to believe that there is something associated with the club itself (nonsense) then this team are only looking at last season, and you can't call that a collapse. City were exceptional, that's all.
It's hard to see past Liverpool at present and it feels as if they're peaking just at the right time, with City perhaps in need of a bit of a freshen up.
I am still of the view that injuries to key players could hurt them more badly than City but I think that is City's best chance now.
Also any long term injury to Salah or VVD and they've had it, for sure they will find a way to feck it up

It's an interesting one. Turns out that it wasn't Player or Palmer that coined the saying although both have had it attributed to them. Player says as much in a book he was involved in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ok...Player was always regarded as a bit of a lucky player I read....so thought it was him

As a fellow single handicapper, and an avid golfer, the quote in golf terms has been mainly attributed to Player, however Arnie did say something similar via a third party recollection as did Trevino, Barber and Casper use the phrase or similar. The actual origin is maybe fronts Mexican soldier apparently!

You have the best team and manager imo. Just need the injuries and a bit of luck. Best position to win the league out of all of the examples above

"Arnold Palmer once said that he gets luckier the more he practices
It is funny how clubs that win things always seem to have more luck."
I always thought it was Gary Player....but the point is pertinent...

It's an interesting one. Turns out that it wasn't Player or Palmer that coined the saying although both have had it attributed to them. Player says as much in a book he was involved in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ok...Player was always regarded as a bit of a lucky player I read....so thought it was him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As a fellow single handicapper, and an avid golfer, the quote in golf terms has been mainly attributed to Player, however Arnie did say something similar via a third party recollection as did Trevino, Barber and Casper use the phrase or similar. The actual origin is maybe fronts Mexican soldier apparently!

A fellow single handicapper? Who is the other one? I'm probably 13 these days. Never quite made it to single figures.

You have the best team and manager imo. Just need the injuries and a bit of luck. Best position to win the league out of all of the examples above
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeez, how much more luck do they need to succeed
