At what cost though?
Cons drastically outweigh the pros (realistically just the one pro) as far as I'm concerned with jose
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No cost. I believe the club will be better off once we start achieving proper success and that’s winning trophies. Adding silverware to the cabinet and creating a winning formula which is what the likes of Chelsea etc have been doing for years. I believe winning breeds success and any top club with the stature we currently possess is capable of winning silverware regularly. I’m not saying we are going to be league title winners, but top 4 and a Fa cup/league cup every season or 2 is certainly realistic. Then potentially progressing again in Europe under a manager that has won the big ears more than most managers on the planet.
I predicted this mess with Pochettino/ Levy etc years ago
------------------------------------------------------------------
We all predicted this mess Don it was only a matter of time we all knew that.
I predicted Harry Redknapp was needed to get us out of our 2 from 8 and we appointed him its not rocket science it was fairly obvious at the time.
I also said Tim Sherwood and AVB were dreadful appointments lets face it it was not hard to work out was it?
I will also predict now that Jose will no longer be Spurs manager in 18 months and during his time at Spurs we will win SFA.
You think he will lets see who gets it right
Nobody is always right Don but I am right a hell of a lot more times than you are.“
I also beg to differ, you think you are right more than me. We will see who is proven correct in a few years. No doubt you will try and wiggle your way out of it somehow in a few years when I come back to you and say “ Told you Mourinho would Win something”

Nope sorry. Every club jose has left has suffered after his departure. He destroys it from the inside. If you want to say it's a good appointment because of the trophies he himself will bring then fair enough but acting like he doesnt ruin the club by the time he's gone is absolute revisionism. We'll get 2 years out of him, may win some domestic cups or the ropey league and then everything will blow up. Its what he does.
Considering how keen you were to see the back off poch you're gonna be pushing Jose out the door when it's his time to go.

Tell me a quick fix manager without gazillions to spend that has been successful Don?

One short term manager that has been an outstanding success without mega millions to play with?

Yep 100% I want what’s best for the club and Poch had to go it’s as simple as that. I loved Poch and have been a backer of him for years, but the last 8 months have been horrendous supporting us. Even the CL final was a damp squid in the end. I turned on him through the summer when he started acting weird in his interviews. This seasons results have only made my opinion more stronger that he had to go. Onto Mourinho, I never said he doesn’t ruin clubs did I ? Yep I remember you when we got the Bale money and signed about 2000 players telling us we were going to set the world alight.
Who was right that time as well when I said it was a recipe for disaster?
I remember just before we played Portsmouth in a cup semi when you told me the cup was ours that year so happy cos we avoided I think it was chel ski and city from the other semi.
I warned you then as well that we were likely to come to grief.
But the best one I remember is the "mind the gap year" when you were giving it to woolwich big time every opportunity you got. I warned you then as well
There are a multitude of woolwich fans on here that will remember that like it was yesterday mate.
Just out of curiosity who finished above who that year Don?

I think you pluck a lot of that out your a** mate I really do. Old age maybe ? The woolwich mind the gap was just the usual NL banter that backfired. Pretty much every spurs fan did the mind the gap thing.
I’ll be coming on here in a few years saying how right I was about Jose, whilst you do you’re usual backtracking and wriggling your way out of it grabdspur when you are proved to be wrong let’s see who’s right. Mourinho will have this club win something innthe next few years, be it a league cup or what ever. No doubt about it.

Dont you think you are all getting a bit carried away here?
Lets face the facts, half of our signings since Poch were dreadful altho apparently its not him.
What have we won under Poch?
What has Poch ever won?
When was the last time we watched some incredible flowing style of football that you are talking about?
What I have seen for the last year has been dire and I mean dire. Ok I never wanted him sacked but lets face it he had a fair crack of the whip and look at the position we are in right now.
As for slagging the chairman if you think the last 5 years have been that fantastic well lets just remember who gave Poch the job in the first place.
So who do you have to thank? Levy employed him should you not give him thanks for the last 5 years as well?
As for all this "Levy should have backed him" crap, a club has to live within its means we dont have an owner who is going to bankroll us to spend mega money and thats that so deal with it.
Lets not forget how disastrous Ramos was but at least he won a trophy.
5 years ago you were all slaughtering woolwich fans for the "Top 4" award that they got every season and yet thats all we have had to show for the last 5 years.
Poch has gone get over it and look forwards and think about one other thing. Every single mega important game we played under Poch we lost. Cup finals, semi finals, top of the league clash with Leicester that would have won us the prem probably. Away to the spammers in the year Leicester won it would have seen us top but we blew it YET AGAIN.
Thats all fact, even the game away to Newcastle would have knocked the woolwich off their perch a year earlier but guess what? We blew it.
No I never wanted him sacked but his record was nothing to shout about for sure and we stopped playing decent football two years ago and this year our form has been diabolical.
Never played the same team twice whether we had won or lost, went out of the League Cup this season to Colchester and the FA Cup last year to a poor Palace side I think.
Fans have laughed at the state of chel ski, utd and woolwich over the last few years but at least they have won things we haven't.
Yes Poch, thanks for the good times, there were a few even tho we won naff all, best of luck for the future we move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We move backwards.
Or you be frank where we were before, and where we deserve to be.
Mid table mediocrities.
Our number one candidate is a fecking has been.
The woolwich mind the gap was just the usual NL banter that backfired.
Oh it backfired for sure
Pretty much every spurs fan did the mind the gap thing.
Not me I am not that stupid
Don if it was down to you we would have a squad of 300 players because all you ever say is "we need to buy" "Levy wont give us the money to buy"
There were even a mass of jokes on here about you throwing yourself off a cliff because we had not bought anybody, because thats all you ever want to do.
Strange that our high point of the last 5 years was the CL Final and we bought virtually nobody.
I also remember you insisting the LVG was the man for us at one stage, yet another bullet ducked.
I dont mind you being wrong most of the time, its actually quite funny, but please dont claim you are right most of the time even tho thats even funnier
Don remind me who wrote this
But if there is any ounce of truth to Kane potentially wanting to leave if Poch is still here, then Pochettino needs to go ASAP.
Harry Kane is Spurs through and through, so he takes any priority over Pochettino if there are issues on-going between the pair. The manager has to go if this is the case because losing Pochettino, we can move forward and appoint the right manager to give this club the success it deserves. Lose Harry Kane? We might aswell pack up our bags and quit.
But Harry will be happy playing Jose football will he? Somebody who is chasing every goalscoring record there is will be happy to win 1-0 or draw 0-0?
I dont think so somehow
Don
Do you still think its so good that we get to keep Eriksen for another season?

I don’t see how Levy could have made the decision to sack Poch without having a replacement lined up very quickly.
Jose will be in before the West Ham game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep 100% I want what’s best for the club and Poch had to go it’s as simple as that. I’m saying short term success we need a big guy to come In, sort this mess out and bring some success to this club. I’ll be right like I usually am
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll probably be right about us winning a trophy. You won't be right about the effect it or he will have on the club moving forward.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I can’t really predict that mate, but what I will say is Mourinho has the pedigree to succeed and will deliver the silverware the club desperately need. I’ll be correct and Grandspur will be wrong.

I don’t see how Levy could have made the decision to sack Poch without having a replacement lined up very quickly.
Jose will be in before the West Ham game.
