Emery or Silva, whose going first!

They probably would've done it by now if they were going to based on how awful we are.

Imagine they'll only sack him once CL football becomes mathematically impossible

Watched the highlights last night, as a neutral, Guendouzi has to be dropped, such a lazy player, talented yes, but imo doesn't track back and just strolls around the pitch

yeah the defence is shiete but a lot of problems come down to having a lazy ass midfield

posted on 24/11/19

Yep Guendouzi is very lazy in MF and a liability mist of the time. Said it in another article but he should be nowhere close to the starting line up

Guendouzi lazy? He is about the only one running around. Considering the way he ran the game against Villa it is a bit surprising a Villa fan said this.

Who had most touches for Arsensl yesterday? Guendouzi

Who made most tackles for Arsenal? Guendouzi.

Who made most interceptions? Guendouzi

Who had the second most dribbles? Guendouzi

Who was fouled the most? Guendouzi

The fact is he had to try and make up for the ineffectiveness of Ozil and Torreira, and the wing backs who were so off the pace.

Look Guendouzi at this stage of his career should not be starting for a club like arsenal. I have said it already but Guendouzi, Xhaka and Torreira wouldn't be regular starters for any team in the league

I am really supporting Gwendo and I like him a lot.

He wants to do everything and forget too often to release the ball way earlier. He is running around a lot but too often with the ball.

Castor says Gwen should be dropped for being lazy, yet screams that Ozil should be starting every game. Can't make it up

In general Özil keeps the ball better than Gwendo. He has more experience and knows better when to make the play quicker or when to slow it down and keep the ball.

Your defenders obviously aren't good enough. Bizarre that you spaffed 72mil on Pepe and didn't address the defence. It actually reminds me of how Spurs used to operate - and I think fans partly drove this - harking back to the glory days (in your case peak Wenger, in ours the 60s) we demand exciting attacking talent, which the club then prioritises over top defenders. End result, teams that flatter to deceive.

Your club more than any was built on a strong defensive identity. Wenger clearly benefitted from that legacy, adding the attacking flare. But over time a lack of focus on the defensive side/ being hard to beat started to tell, and now here you are.

Think you need to go until reverse now, get a defensive coach in next.

posted on 24/11/19

Didn't address the defence? Bought 3 defenders (albeit one won't be with us until the summer). We also bought a keeper and CB last summer. 5 new additions.

If you think buying Luiz is addressing your shambolic defence then more fool you

posted on 24/11/19

Buying 5 defenders in 12 months is addressing the problem. May not solve it, but it certainly is addressing a problem.

posted on 24/11/19

addressing a problem is actually buying better than you already have, which you haven't at CB

posted on 24/11/19

No, addressing a problem is identifying it and trying to solve it.

And Luiz is arguably our best CB

posted on 24/11/19

That's saying something then, wonder why Lampard was quick enough to ship him out

posted on 24/11/19

A winger was definitely near the top of the list of what we needed. In fact we still need another.
We were actively in the market for CBs as well, and signed two. One a short term attempted fix the other a long term solution. That won't be the end of it though.

You need quality not just quantity. Lacazette, Aubameyang, even Pepe were all hot property and you spent big. But club aren't going for the same level of player in defence. Fans do play a part. You accept an average player like Leno as starting GK. But a decent attacker eg Owobi isn't tolerated and so club spends 72 mil on Pepe.

Saliba is very highly rated. Tierney is very highly rated.
The club have tried to buy the likes of Upamecano and Koubiliy, who the fans also want, but it isn't that easy.

Spending big on defenders also doesn't guarantee a good defence, look at City.

To be fair Saliba sounds good. I'd have liked him at Spurs. But yes you need more.

Leno?

Leno really isnt our problem. He is on level with every goal keeper in the top 4
