we had decent attack and defence. Midfield was always shambolic. We lose McT and the tactical genius thinks throwing the grenade that is Jones was the solution

Jones is a nervous mess at the best of times but he literally has no idea what he is doing in that left sided CB role. Was not the time for Williams next to him to make his second PL start either.

Switch to a back 4 and get Garner/Axel in midfield

I'd go with Axel - Sheffield are pushing the boundaries with fouls, and it would be a nightmare for Garner, as he doesn't have confidence yet. He tends to start slow and grow into matches at this level, and we need someone stout like Axel to push back. Sadly, this may be it for Jones, he had an opportunity to save his career, and he's not up to it.

This game would have been perfect for Mctominay. We are flimsy in midfield.
