Black Friday in line at 5am outside Best Buy grabbing that Plasma TV Deal.

Turkey on Thankgiving there, Ham for Xmas, Turkey here for Xmas.

Halloween has always been a thing here, but yeah I think it's due to the internet and cheaper products (costumes and such on sale everywhere even in Poundland). Marketing too of course.

Anyway, the main purpose for Thanksgiving is getting together with Family (and close Friends) which as you well know are more often than not spread out across the world in this day and age.

You have a point. TV and media always making us feel negative and depressed. It's a social engineering (brain washing if you wanna get all conspiracy) that makes Brits feel negative. I literally had an old school friend (big Spurs fan btw) say on FB when I was over there "how can you stand those blooming tanks, all happy and smiling face all the time?" I felt offended.

Raising my children I try my hardest to make sure they don't inherit the inbuilt front face that puts a permanent indented "11" on your forehead when you get older.

It aint our fault, be aware, the media and the powers that be keep us down and opressed intentionally. Be aware and fight it. Look to the positive things in life, and there are many.

America has its own problems. Land of the unfree, home of the slave. I real eyes'ed that here in UK we are actually very much free. For instance you can get arrested for walking down the street with a beer in your hand? You can go to jail for loitering! Was told you never hang around, if the cops ask you tell them you're either coming or you're going. Laws are overkill there. If you owe money the government can literally just empty your bank account on the spot. Swings and roundabouts.

Yeah, every day there is some bad news either on TV or newspapers.

Just bad news and news that give us bleak outlook and no hope of a better future.

Even the weather has turned gray. So gray that it feels like we are living in Norway where it is no Sun in winter.
I watch the umber of homeless people in our City grow every year, and yet nothing is being done to help.
People I know having to use food banks to eat, and stave off hunger.

I am really sorry...It's not a pleasant picture. I wish I could paint a better picture.
