I would expect him to firstly play the best players he has in their best positions. I also see him going for the win. I think that, especially as a former Gunner, this situation hurts. So I see Ozil in, a front three of Pepe, Auba and Laza and Torreira in at DM. Central defence is slightly more problematic because, although you'd expect Holding to be amongst the best we have, he's still a little off the pace. Having said that, Sokratis is sheeeeeeeet. So perhaps Tierney, Holding, Chambers (at RB) plus one other (I will probably be so wrong!). Can't call that last position in CM. It goes without saying we'll have Leno in goal.
He has a big advantage in that he's been as close as anyone could be to the team and Emery to witness everything that was wrong firsthand.
His disadvantage is a total lack of managerial experience at this level, a little bit of managerial experience with the youths & reserves, think it was just the reserve team he 'managed' though right? Not the actual youth/under-18's.
All he needs to do is believe in the players and tell them to believe in themselves again, he needs to give them the freedom to play their good attacking football again and confidence in each other. Easier said than done but in my opinion he should try and get us comfortable in a 4-4-2/4-3-3 or 4-5-1, needless to say I'm sick of us trying to play 5 at the back and having no midfield.

Stopped reading there.
There's always been mutterings about playing either one of Chambers or Luiz in midfield. And it seemed to offer some semblance of calm in an otherwise jumpy squad over the 30 minutes Luiz played yesterday.
He may look at the players he has and go full Ossie Ardiles / Kevin Keegan
Would be nice to see us dominate possession and create more chances / shots on goal than the opposition do at least. Take the pressure off of the defence with good attacking football!
I think we'll at least play better football under him, utilising central attacking areas and putting opponents under pressure more.
Think the defence is a lost cause really.
So, similar to last season, just with better footie is my prediction.
We should at least have a style of play under him. We criticised Wenger for not studying the opponents and combating their tactics, but Emery went too far in the opposite direction. We need something closer to a happy medium.
I hope he’s also got a sharpened axe to cut out an awful lot of deadwood and over paid but very disrespectful millionaires who should either act like professionals or they have no use!! I look forward to a bit of Viking marauding and scoring against Mutd
Freddie could also do with taking a chill pill. Having a hothead at pitch-side won't exactly do our squad any favours.
I believe he's already been booked this season.
Maybe there won't be improvements in the way we expect to see them, but there will be change, and in our situation change is invariably good.
Freddie was part of what was great about the club back in the day, so he'll be wanting to replicate that as best he can with the tools he has available.
If he plays Sokratis this weekend my opinion on him will be tarnished.

The club has just tweeted out cautionary updates for Luiz, Mustafi, Bellerin and Kolasinac.
Sokratis is more or less nailed on for Sunday now.

Yah well Holding should be starting regardless over Sok or Mustafi but if Bellerin is not fit then Chambers couldn't play alongside him.
That leaves Mustafi or Mavropanos, neither of which are particularly better or worse than Sok.

I had more of an issue with Emery. Anyway, we've done this before already. I'm not feeling to hijack this conversation with a rehash of this.
'Will he go will the four expensive attackers in the same XI? Auba, Laca, Pepe and Ozil hasn't been something we have seen yet, will Freddie be bold enough to get them all in the starting XI?'
Would put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces

Until the game kicks off and everyone remembers Ozil and Auba are the laziest caaaants going, Pepe is shiiite, and Laca hits the target once every 20 chances.
Was talking more about the faces of the home crowd tbh, mate.
