Copenhagen and Leningrad are the venues if England get through the runners up route.

Dublin and Rome if winners.

Last 4 is Wembley. Various venues for last 16 and last 8

Group stage is pointless with 3 out 4 teams going through. Im sure Germany, Portugal and France are actually delighted that they meet each other there in dead rubbers rather than the first couple of knockout rounds.

Those nations won’t be happy. It’s a tough group and they potentially have to face England or Croatia if they get through.

It wasn't discarded for being crap (even though it was), it wasn't needed when the WC was expanded.
