Digne is a good player but no one talks about him as a potential LB. I’d prefer him at 40m than Chilwell at 70

Bournemouth play quite an open game so expect them to concede goals.

Ake is definitely a standout player for them, very comfortable on the ball (left footed) so fits in at LCB or LB if required. We've got a buy back on him too. He's better than AC & Zouma for me and fits the profile.

Yeah I can see a CL club snapping up Ake if we don't exercise our buyback on him. Think he'd be a quality signing and addition for this young Chelsea side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Potentially. Not sure on his age now? 22? We need rudiger back more than anything though.

We should look outside the PL for a LB. PL clubs will charge crazy money for any half decent player. Plus we’re in a position where we have a shet load of homegrown talent at our club.

Irony is we don't need anyone in January, fact it could be detrimental to bring anyone in.

The squad's well balanced & players are happy. Maybe if a really good LB becomes available (and will be poached if we don't act) and we have a taker for Alonso, maybe. But that's the only one I can think of. CF's not an issue for me, Lamps is getting a tune out of Bats as 2nd choice & if we're worrying about Giroud as a 3rd choice based off one performance.... honestly we're not in a bad place big picture.

The time to act in the market is the summer

Best comment on here Devil. The most problematic position for us is LB but I doubt anyone of the quality we want will be available in January so I think we should go with what we have.

I'd hate us to go back to our bad old ways of paying £25m for a Zappacosta type in January, we can cover it with what we have and Maartsen from the academy if things became desperate with injuries and suspensions.

I think we best wait until Summer and target top quality at LB, a decent 2nd striker and a replacement for Pedro.

Central Midfielders we're well stocked with, especially if RLC recovers well, as we are in CD. In fact I can't see were Ampadu would fit in next season, either in defence of midfield and many have high hopes for him!

If a big club makes a big offer for him Leicester will sell, there's a decent chance of that happening. It will cost two arms and a leg though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What you mean like when Liverpool wanted to sign him before you got Robertson and instead he signed a new contract with us instead? 😂

It will take silly money to sign him and only United will pay silly money.

I can't remember us ever making many really good signings in January. Anelka maybe. Apart from that quite a lot of cross. It's never a great time to buy players.

As long as we're free to buy players next summer again then that's what really matters
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ivanovic. Luiz. Anelka. Matic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah already mentioned Anelka. Not a long list though is it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you forgetting your boy jiri jarosik!?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How could we forget.

I'm sure we could make a long list of dross signings we've made in the Jan window, starting with Torres. It's just not a window that we ever get much out of in terms of quality or value.

You best watch your feckin mouth.

soccer?lol.

I've been reading all the replies and not 1 person has said about the only player who I think we'll sign in January ( I don't want him though) and that's Zaha, he's the 1 player who we are being consistently linked with and I just can't understand why.

Would rather Zaha than sancho

Sancho is a flash Harry and like nick said has had problems with management all his career

Let United spunk money on him I say
Zaha has lots to prove at the top level and generally has a great attitude

Deal already done with that one
