system or style of play that every top side must have and not one player seems to have improved during his tenure as manager

———————

Fred and McTominay?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Martial and Rashford have improved as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They certainly have. They would be even better with a creative midfielder to spot their runs (especially Rashford).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Or a manager who knows how to coach attacking patterns
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He must be doing something right, as they are pretty much on for 35 league goals between them, despite Martial being injured for 8 weeks or so. Remember how you laughed at that suggestion?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Coaching attacking play is a lot more than needing your two strikers to score all the goals

It’s so one dimensional - use pace in counter attacks but when teams sit back and don’t allow pace to be used it’s a lot less effective. If you’re happy with that type of football then fair enough. It’s not a sign of a good attacking manager. Just one who hopes for the first goal and not having to chase anything

We do absolutely need creativity in there. But we’ve had creativity in there and still had the same problems

I like Rashford more than a lot of people on here and have never turned against him when on match threads he gets slated to feck. But he doesn’t have the best brain on him and I doubt he would make the right runs for a properly intelligent Ozil type

posted on 2/1/20

Which is to say I feel Rashford is more of an instinctive player than someone who would fit into a well structured attacking system

Strange how Pogba finds him when he is on the pitch. Did you not see how many wasted runs he made against Arsenal?

Robb, you championed the signing of Pogba. Said we had to get him for Jose. Then when he wasnt doing too good you said we had to get Matic to release Pogba. Yet you haven't even given Ole chance to get a AM in, never mind the DM to accompany him.

It wasn’t me that didn’t give Ole the chance to get an AM in. He himself didn’t choose to bring one in this summer

Absolutely if he wants to save his job he needs to spend this window. I just have this feeling we’ll end up with someone like Longstaff and it will be as underwhelming as the summer

Happy to be proven wrong.

Any true United supporter should want rid of Pogba at this point

He had a chance to be something special at United and now he’s taking the pissss

I'm not saying give Ole his chance any more than I thought Moyes and LvG should have been given longer. I did think Jose was a busted flush, but never wrote sacking articles.
We are fifth in the league.
In the semi of the league cup
Topped our group in the Europa.
So not all doom and gloom.
Personally I don't think it's the managers job to improve players, but Fred and McT have certainly improved. And as far as I'm concerned he's handled the youngsters perfectly.
Yes Poch waits. Now I rate him, but he's never won a trophy in his career, and there is no guarantee he's better than Ole, just personal opinion.

Moyes - Long term vision but not good enough

LVG - Passed his best and a short term appointment

Jose - A world class manager who guarantees success BUT the concerns re his behaviour were valid.

Ole - A nice guy, a young appointment, he has done SOME good things but clearly isnt good enough at this level.

For me, Poch is the ideal man for the job. Relatively young, able to improve players, plays a nice style of football, his players love him and would match our ambitions as a club.

I don't think most of us would be against poch. Just that we think Ole should be given more time to prove himself.

I think he was wise to say that even if not true.
Undermining your own players at the start of the season is not a good idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

True and that may be the case

But if this window he faces the same supposed problems with bringing in who he wants then he should be shaming Ed publicly
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ole contradicts himself quite a bit. Initially he said he had targets but isnt sure he can get them in Jan, now he claims to still be looking. Which is it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both. He should always be looking.

I find it odd that some of our fans don’t want him

Big month for him

Needs signings
Could be whipped at Anfield
Could be out of two cup comps
