What really annoyed me last night was after the defeat Ole is all smiling high fiving. This nice guy style Ole has is not working. The players are relaxed and know even if they don't perform, there's no accountability. There's no fear in the side, they can just coast and know they'll still get picked, Lingard and Shaw as an example.
Utd is a place for players to just earn easy money. No ambition and that seems to be rubbing onto the fans now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
First paragraph i agree with, second not so much as slowly ole is getting rid of that type of player. Cant do it all at once.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The three signings of his were as guilty of lazy complacency as anyone else last night
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great, so one bad performance means theyve been like that all season. Love to hear your thoughts on how lukaku was for us in that case.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the managers job to motivate the players. He could have taken on the challenge but instead gave up on Lukaku who has gone onto better things under a manager who has done with Inter what Ole should have done with us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you defended jose and it was his job to motivate him too right and he may not have got sacked. Yet your expectong Ole to motivate a player who couldn't do it under the special one and wasnt a player he fancied.
Because from where im looking, performances have been hit and miss but rash, martoal who missed 8 weeks and Greenwood are looking hungry even if they are wasteful which id guess ole played a part in.
Or does that not fit your narrative?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lukaku has gone. You were the one who brought him up.
The players we have now struggle to show any form of consistent motivation. It’s all well and good being motivated for the likes of Liverpool and City. But when they fail to turn up against Watford or against Arsenal when the chance to close the top 4 gap is there, a problem exists.
His hard is it to have the players start the game like a house on fire against a rookie manager who’s never won a game?

It helped that, where we had Jesse Lingard, Arsenal had Özil, who, for all his abject displays over the last few seasons, is still one of the most gifted players in that role of recent times. Solskjaer is trying to play a formation that depends on a player we simply don’t have. Mata is the closest but obviously is ageing now and struggles physically.

Like I said, ive not returned a number of times after posting articles saying im leaving on anonymous forum. Can you say that champ?
I don’t think Arsenal played with a particularly defined style of play, to be honest. Especially given they completely switched it around in the second half. We’ve actually seen similar things under Ole at United, so remains to be seen what Arteta does.
But it’s certainly an issue for us that we’ve not really defined any patterns of play or partnerships in the team. James, Rashford and Martial link up well on occasion, but it’s often fleeting rather than sustained throughout a match, let alone the season.
The less said about the midfield the better. Personnel is an issue, but then the manager is responsible for tjode transfers and we still don’t play well as a team in midfield and defence. The coaching is obviously not good enough based on what we see on the pitch.

Thing is, the likes of Ozil were finished at Arsenal, same with Xhaka and loads of others who just last month were thought of as trash. Arteta had then pressing like mad, something he will have learnt from working with Pep and I’m sure they are much better equipped for a top 4 run than us simply because their game-plan is more pronounced and has seemingly revitalised them
It’s the managers job to motivate the players.
......
It is. And this is something he is clearly struggling with. There have been far to many games where we have not got out of the blocks in the first half an hour.
.......
He could have taken on the challenge but instead gave up on Lukaku
..........
Lukaku just wasn’t suited to United or the way we play.
...........
who has gone onto better things under a manager who has done with Inter what Ole should have done with us.
......
I would say Inter were in a better shape than us to start with.
Arsenal playing like that isn’t sustainable. They don’t have the quality or fitness.
Darren
I think they switched it round at half time as they couldn’t keep that pressing game up for 90 mins against Chelsea and it eventually hurt them’
They knew that by sitting back and defending a 2-0 lead they wouldn’t have much trouble keeping us out and so it was to be
Yeah and I’d agree with that. Which shows a bit of pragmatism when 2-0 up.

This is what I don’t get, we don’t have a decent number 10, so stop playing the 4231 formation. It’s such a hit and miss formation for us too. When he was in charge as a caretaker, he was using 433 which worked really well, then all of a sudden, this defensive formation which hasn’t worked for the most part of last season, and carried on this season with worse set of players.
When I watch is play, I don’t see no coherent plan of passing and positional play, it’s just, lads go out there and enjoy your self kinda football so the moment we play against and well drilled team, we ain’t got a clue what to do.

Multiple accounts like RDD, moving goal posts like RDD... its comedy gold to see you try so hard.

What are you even on about now? You’ve had an absolute mare tonight - people have pointed this out. Maybe go to sleep, get up, do your homework and after school tomorrow come back and try again 👌

Ah the old got to bed narrative when youve been called out.
Mudd was right, keep hammering you and eventually you twist yourself into your own knots of hypocrisy.

It’s not just about motivation. Quality, coaching and leadership is lacking at the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s many things
But we saw last night that Arteta has more of a clear plan for what he wants Arsenal to do after three games than what we’ve seen after a year with Ole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It helped that, where we had Jesse Lingard, Arsenal had Özil, who, for all his abject displays over the last few seasons, is still one of the most gifted players in that role of recent times. Solskjaer is trying to play a formation that depends on a player we simply don’t have. Mata is the closest but obviously is ageing now and struggles physically.
