Grealish would be my choice but i don't see him leaving villa until the end of the season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They're going down anyway...they might want to cash in whilst he's a prem player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe
It's would be worth an inquiry by Ed
You would have to think though the villa fans would be furious with the club hierarchy if the transfer were to happen
I don't see the player himself pushing for the move with his boyhood club fighting for survival

Calvin Phillips is a better DM than Rice. Really hope United spunk 60-70m on Rice.

Yes he is. If Leeds don't get promoted we should be in for him. They will get promoted though

Grealish > Maddison >>>>>>>> Rice
Would love someone at the club who can take a set piece like Maddison though.
Can Fernandes hit a FK or corner? We've been shiyte for years. Might actually see Maguire becomming a threat at set pieces if someone could take one properly too (with a bit of pace on).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair Harry has missed 4 or 5 absolute sitters with his head this season.
Not that I think we’ll get three midfielders but this set of three purchases would infinitely improve us
Neves
Bruno Grealish
Has all the bases covered. But again, it’s not football manager. Would solve our midfield issues in a way we haven’t done since the 2008 season

It really has been an issue since then
Moutinho is the one we should've got before Wolves did, would've helped us so much, for a small fee.

He has been very good 👍
I’d argue it goes even further back. Hargreaves and Anderson didn’t really solve our midfield issues given how things panned out for them at the club.
United have been pretty bad at signing central midfielders this century, tbh. We were fortunate that we had some brilliant ones already as we went into the 2000’s, as I’d argue Carrick is the only midfielder we’ve signed in this time that has been a bonafide success.

Neves is an excellent DM and in most games I feel he would be enough. If we were playing a City or a Barca I’d probably bring in McT for one of the front two of the midfield. Depends on the manager and his tactics tbf.
Looking at Liverpool you have Fabinho and he has Henderson and Wijnaldum - if we were to match them we’d probably not have the midfielders I’ve said. Whereas with City they sometimes play with two number 8s ahead of a more defensively minded midfielder
Neves isn’t that good really. Massively overrated player, he’s not even the best midfielder at his club.
For the money he’d cost we’d be better off looking elsewhere. Thomas Partey is a player we should be looking at. Though it might be difficult to get him.
Got to say that when I see Wolves play it's seems to be Moutinho that makes them tick.

---------------------------------------------
If Pogba were to leave, he'd be a really good player to add better balance to the midfield, whether it be in a two or a three. He'd be good anyway but even more so.
I'd then look for somebody similar to Rodri who Thomas played quite well with at Atleti.
Along with Bruno, there'd be quite a good mix of ability and characteristics between all three.
I like the look of Aouar at Lyon. Though City will probably sign him. Pep’s a massive fan apparently.
Yeah I do too. He was one of my alternatives if we didn't sign Bruno.
Have you seen much of Diawara at Roma or when he was at Napoli? He looks like he could be an ideal holding player. Defensively good and seems to possess a good level of composure and ability on the ball.
I think Aouar could be developed in a number of midfield roles, to be fair. Probably what Pep will do. I see similarities with Thiago.
Not seen much of Diawara. He didn’t play that much for Napoli and I don’t watch much Serie A nowadays so haven’t been watching Roma.

Dya reckon if Juve don’t win the title Sarri will be sacked and Pep will go there?
It’s certainly possible. As is Poch going there. I recall Poch speaking of Juve being an attractive club to manage, and that he has family from Turin.

I've not seen a whole lot of Diawara tbf but even watching him play a few games it's easy to see he has a broader skillset than a lot of DMs we're being linked with.
I just want better footballers in midfield who don't sh!t themselves in possession.

So do I. I hate our midfield.
One of my fears is that we end up with Declan Rice or Sean Longastaff, because they are English and want to play for the club. Apparently that’s good enough to be a United player nowadays.
It’s one of the reasons I’m a bit worried about giving Ole more money. Shades of Liverpool under KKKenny. And look how that set them back.

We’ve already got Dunk on another thread saying that he reckons Ole has every chance of being as good as Pep
WAs I this bad with Moyes? 😂

I’ve said it before, but Ole being manager has completely melted the brains of some of our fans.

Yeah I share the same concerns but it's been reported that he seems to have seen the light as far as Longstaff goes, hopefully he does the same with Rice.
If he brings in Bruno, that buys him some more credit with me.
I’m probably gonna hate Bruno. He sounds like Rooney in his latter years.
