With Mctomminay, Rashford and Pogba out we really need to bring players in ASAP.

We need to get a striker this window even on loan. If Rashford is out for 2 months

Tomatoes

You’re allowed to have contact with the opponents keeper, de Gea never looked in control of the ball and VVD was clearly going for the ball. I thought it was a harsh decision but accept they get given now and then.

Best team won, we had a good spell but simply can’t compete at this level. I thought the Firmino disallowed goal was harsh, de Gea never had both hands on the ball and VVD only had eyes on the balls.

There are far bigger issues than today, we tried and showed some effort.

Your players got exactly what they deserved.

We are not too far away, think about the players missing.

A couple of windows should allow us secure a top 4 spot and kick on from there

If we had a full fit squad, I genuinely believe we would be well in the running for top 4, but the lack of investment in the summer was ridiculous when considering the number of players we let go (no issue with those players being moved on mind!) but they needed to be replaced. Having said that, we have players starting on a regular basis, who imo shouldn't be anywhere near a starting United 11. Pereira, Lindelof' Lingard for sure. James has been thrown in at the deep end too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Indeed. I feel for a lot of the younger players but days like this build character. Fred and Matic were excellent

That last chance lost us on expected goals. 2.01 vs 1.42. What were our players thinking. Complete stupidity to let Salah through.

For me theres lots of focus on Ed now. He simply has to deliver this month. An attacking midfielder, and now that Rashford is out for some time, he should really be looking to a striker im, even if its on loan. Things could get ugly if he doesn't deliver anyone at all this month and it would be totally unfair on Ole

Queue the Ole Out brigade even though our tactics had some success and we fought hard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would have been a travesty if you had got anything from that. They were so much better for most of the game
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ridiculous comment.

Anyone getting a result at Anfield is likely to be dominated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s dominated and there’s dominated. It should have been 5 or 6 no exaggeration - I can’t believe it was 1-0 for so long
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah something like 4-0 would have been a better reflection.

Came out of that game better than I expected.

Surprised we were able to sustain possession and pressure and pin them back for as long as we did.

A bit more quality and perhaps we get a point.

That said though, when they were on top, we were absolutely shambolic. We really do have some absolute cowards on the ball when we're put under pressure, none more so than Lindelof who looked a nervous wreck during that period of the game and Maguire really wasn't much better in that respect.

Defensively we still need a lot of work.

That wasn't a foul on the keeper.

DDG with the strength of a pre pubescent girl in his own box as per usual.

That’s the worry, £125m spend on our defence is its arguably no better. We weren’t bad in spells but like you say, when Liverpool were on top it was hard to watch.

Still say give Henderson and Romero a chance. Cash in on DDG

I think it wasn't a foul and so do the likes of Van Persie and Owen.

If a goalkeeper was saying it then I’d be more inclined to listen.

Most players don’t understand that the level of contact required with a keeper is not the same as an outfield challenge.

Well, Van Dijk jumped for the ball and had his hands down when the collision occurred. First two replays I thought it was a foul but I’m really not sure. Unless you’re literally not allowed to touch the keeper then I think we got out of jail there.

The Everton one a bit ago should really have been a foul as the guy’s arm was up, right across De Gea’s face. That’s not what Van Dijk did today - De Gea simply ought to have been stronger.

Yeah, it's debatable atbyhe very least and definitely not laughable.

Winston wrong as usual.
