People overreacted so quickly on him. It's obvious he is a very good defender, one who with the right system would be the foundation of a good team.
always rated him, just not at £80million.
Wonder if you would have done this article if he was currently suspended as he should be

He was just protecting himself by holding the guy up by his cockk and balls... VAR exonerated him.

If only Harry could shake off that 80 m transfer fee. Judge the man, not the fee. He shines on the pitch and will make for a great skipper for us. That's all I could give a flying fark about.

Yea, i think it suits him well and is certainly see your old chum Shaw playing well... Add Tuanzebe to the right side and it could be great.

Seems to enjoy the extra freedom the 3 man formation is giving him and is now starting to chip in with a few goals.
------------
This bit is weird. Even if he is enjoying more freedom due to playing a 3, is he chipping in a with a "few goals" and are the goals he has scored a result as some kind of freedom? They've come from set pieces right? Which he is up from the back for no matter the formation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was not saying the two things are connected. His goal in the FA cup was in open play though.

I would like to see a bit more on the leadership bit.
When Martial was floored on the touch line against Chelsea, Fred was getting involved in defending Martial while he was on the floor.
Maguire should have been calming that situation.
Just a bit picky on my part but just something I noticed. Fred ended up getting booked needlessly.
Happy with his form though.

A very good player for United at the moment, got lots of unwarranted abuse from fans thinking you were getting a Van Dijk.
He's miles off that but still comfortably one of the best in the league. Yes, you overpaid but not massively and he will be a mainstay for years.
I love Fred... He has just the right amount of Brazilian hot headedness, a bit like when Rafael would go after players!
Agree with the OP... A definite uptick in form since the turn of the year!
The aspect of this game I've been most disappointed with is his passing... Didn't realize it was so bad!
I think he needs a better and quicker player than Lindelof next to him. Hopefully Bailly is that player and Tuanzebe can get over fit injury problems to be another key CB next season.

Something we have really lacked. Williams is the same. A touch of Stuart Pearce about him.
Maguire played with a back FIVE.
He is an improvement on what you currently have, but if you genuinly think that he's becoming the player you all hoped he'd be then your expectations are very low indeed. The player is very good in the air, but comes with several key weaknesses. Do you take these for granted when you look at his pricetag? Do you dismiss them easily? Or do you accept that you're not getting the whole package and merely an improvement on what you have? Surely you could get an improvement for just over half what you paid for him?
This is not a dig at him since I'm aware of both his strengths and more importantly: his weaknesses. I'm just adding some realism. If you haven't figured out his weaknesses yet: lacks pace, positional awareness is not the best perhaps due to not having a superb football intellect, communication with teammates need work and I can't see a leader or organizer in him, but this was already the case when he was at Leicester. Their fans van vouch for this. You can run at him and get something out of it. Not always though since Maguire is physically strong, but tricky opponents got the better of him a few times.
To end with some positivity, he's a strong lad, superior in the air, very decent with the ball, can bring the ball forward and is somewhat of a treat in the oppo box.

I have been thinking that for a while. Annoys me when I see some of our players accept refs decisions whatever the situation especially when its clearly a foul on them or it should be our throw in etc. Matic, Wan Basakka and Martial are the worst for that. You could punch Wan Basakka in the face kick him in the bollox get a booking and he would still walk off chewing his gum and accept the refs decision. Not saying we should be like Klopp but you see City and Liverpool players in the refs face all the time. To me it shows a bit of fight and passion. Remember the good old days when Keane, scholes, rooney, rio would be challenging every decision. Just think sometimes we are a bit soft

You only need to look at the latest game United played.. Im not saying you always play with a back 5, but it does happen. To be honest, it's a bit surprising that you're ignorant of this fact.
The first half was very much a back 5 yesterday as it was against Liverpool. Williams and Shaw were so close to each other and Dalot wasn't too far from Lindelof either. 2nd half Dalot and Williams pushed further up the pitch
