RVP

Im kind of leaning towards Rvp Eventhough Sanchez was unreal for us

Arsenal are like the reverse of us, where we've alwasy (usually) had top cbs, arsenal have always had great strikers.

RVP, could do it all.

Aubameyang is an out and out goal scorer but not as silky or as special a talent.

Sanchez it's hard to look at him now and think he was a very good player at one point as he's probably not played a good game since he left you.

RvP

For me it's not even close.

Though Alexis and RVP both also won the golden boot like Auba, they were, literally one season wonders for us. Alexis only had one other season of 15+ goals and RVP best season for us apart from his golden boot season was 18 goals and that in a far more successful and creative team.

Auba has already scored 17 goals for us this season following his golden boot last season and in a team that is underperforming.

There really isn't a debate on who is the better player between those 3.

Romantic hindsight and emotional response always trumps commons sense.

RVP for me. He had everthing which included long list of injuries.

Auba is close and is scoring even when playing out of position. No offence to Arsenal but he is wasted over there hence why he will look to leave.

RvP's main (only) problem at Arsenal was his fitness.

'Prime RvP' presumably means 'fit RvP'.

That being the case, he wouldn't have been a 'one-season wonder' (which I dispute, anyway) and therefore a better option than either Alexis or Auba.

not by looking at your comments. Just judging them on goals.
I know who i'd rather face if given the chance as a chelsea fan and thats auba.

Rvp in his final season pretty much got top 4 single handedly. If Arsenal get CL this season, it’ll be because of Aubameyang and the arrival of Arteta to make his contribution count.

With Alexis we won the most. However has to be RvP. A generational player

obviously fitness plays a part.
If RVP was fit more this wouldn't be a question.

2009/10 14 starts 9 goals 7 assists
10/11 - 19 starts 18 goals 7 assists
11/12 - 27 starts 30 goals 10 assists

Outrageous stats.

Ironically I think it J99 who’s judgement is clouded. In terms of goal scoring it’s flip of a coin. But in terms of overall play there isn’t a debate to be had.

yeah, can only judge a player on when he plays, and rvp averaged over a goal contribution a game in his last 3 years at arsenal. Whoscored dindn't go back further.

And not forgetting he won utd a premier league

Thats cause RVP played in very good teams. May not have been winning trophies but perennial top 4, Champions League. Look at who was feeding him. Cesc, Nasri, Rosicky, Arshavin and even a young promising Walcott.

Its always questionable to compare players in a team game.

RVP
2004/5 - 26 apps, 5 goals, With Pires/Freddie/Vieira
5/6 - 24 apps, 4 goals
6/7 - 22 apps, 11 goals
7/8 - 15 apps, 7 goals,
8/9 - 28 apps, 11 goals
9/10 - 16 apps, 9 goals
10/11 - 25 apps, 18 goals
11/12 - 38 apps, 30 goals.

Except for his final two years RVP would be considered a flop.

Ask yourself what you want in a striker.

He has one job. Score goals. It doesn't matter how many dribbles, fancy flicks or spectacular volleys he scores. Points count.

Our best two strikers by far have been Henry and then WWW.

I didn't want to print Aubemeyang's record at Dortmund. So kept it to their Arsenal careers.

How many were starts? how many were fit. He'd never be considered a flop with those stats.

You dont seem have included assists either.

And you mention cesc etc but by the time van persie left arsenal had regressed massively, and his best stats were before he left...so throws that theory out the window.

A young Wilshere, Arshavin, Rosicky, Ramsey, Santi and assists king Walcott were pretty good.

Still qualifying for the Champions League, season after season. We did that even Giroud. Didn't see his name above?
