Man City vs Arsenal postponed

Let's see. Olympiacos have gone on to play against PAOK, while Arsenal have met both West Ham and Portsmouth. Pompey have also gone on to play against Fleetwood Town and Peterborough.

And I reckon all 7 clubs involved in this geometric progression also happen to share facilities with their respective youth teams.

So we won't be playing for 14 days?

Seems to be the case unless we’re forced to play kids, which obviously isn’t fair or reasonable. I’m absolutely ok with them just cancelling this season & starting it off again (same teams in the league, same euro competitions etc) next season

Oh, they are just doing it 14 days from the Olympiakos game (so they are self isolating for two days 😂😂)

I haven’t seen specific dates but their players were in contact with ours a week ago so you’d think it’d be more than 2 days (presuming their players have had contact with their owner, who definitely had contact with our management team by all accounts, who would have... etc)

Following yesterday's news that Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis has recently contracted Covid-19, we have been taking medical advice and tracing any individuals who had what the guidelines define as close contact with him at the game 13 days ago.

As a result of this exercise we identified that a number of players met the Olympiacos owner immediately following the game.

The medical advice we have received puts the risk of them developing Covid-19 at extremely low. However, we are strictly following the Government guidelines which recommend that anyone coming into close contact with someone with the virus should self-isolate at home for 14 days from the last time they had contact.

As a result, the players are unavailable for tonight's match against Manchester City and the Premier League has decided the game should be postponed.

The players will remain at their homes until the 14-day period expires. Four Arsenal staff - who were sitting close to Mr Marinakis during the match - will also remain at home until the 14 days are complete.

So the game was 13 days ago, and they should self isolate for 14 days from the last time they had contact. So today and tomorrow.

Why on earth would our players be having a post-game meeting with the owner of a club that had just knocked us out of a Cup?

That's the kind of thing you expect to see on a Panorama exposé about some dodgy Russian Cup competition.

Seems to be the case now I’ve read the article properly 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’m still an advocate of just binning this season though 👍🏼 😂

No harm in svking a rich mans nob.

Yeah, they should postpone the rest of this season, and play the remaining games during the close season next year.

Wolves say their Europa League last-16 first-leg match at Olympiakos is an "unnecessary risk" after Uefa rejected their request to postpone the game.

The match in Greece on Thursday will be played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus outbreak.

My bet is more on Sokratis and Özil to be honest.

Olympiakos can't afford Ozil. Turkish football, yes, cause of lower tax and his god status with the turks.

This fixture is really cursed isn't it. Think this is the beginning of the end for this years season.

Olympiakos are interested in taking Sok & Xhaka off of us? Well that's the most positive news I've heard in weeks. I'd be delighted with £30-£35m for the pair.
