The best thing for us would be no Europe.

If we make good signings we'll have more chance finishing in the top 4 than with Europa.

For a start, potentially 15-17 games LESS to be played in the season. And with our current injury crises, it makes perfect sense to dodge Europe completely.
Concentrate on the PL and a domestic trophy. Get the team settled and playing again and aim for top 4 with much less fixture congestion.
Only issue is no European football, less likely to get better players - but that hasn't worked out well for us the past 3-4 years even with CL anyway.
Freak injuries, like Lloris doing his elbow earlier in the season, are bad luck.
Recurring injuries like Kane's ankle, Lamela's hip and Alli's hamstring, are not bad luck.
A club with a good medical department should be able to pick those long-standing injuries up and work around them.
A club with good coaching staff should be able to monitor players' condition and rest players accordingly if they need it.
A club with a good scouting system should be able to spot players with recurring issues and avoid signing them if they're sufficiently serious, and provide good options for new signings to back up injury-prone players already at the club.
A club with good management should be able to work around injury losses - particularly those that should be relatively predictable as they recur frequently - by having a variety of tactics drilled into the players. Granted, the manager needs to be provided with enough decent players in the first place. On that note...
...a club with good directorship would realise the need for all the above, and employ the right people and pay the right money to make sure it's all watertight.
I don't think Spurs are currently ticking many of these boxes.

I feel exactly the same, I didn't even bother watching the match yesterday which is unheard of for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why didn`t you watch it Edbo, have a few poor results suddenly turned you into a plastic. I doubt it. Come on Spurs have a lost a few games with a crippling injury list. That is football.
I find it astonishing a lot of our supporters on here, say they didn`t watch Spurs yesterday. Are you all just fair weather supporters? Just watch when the team is winning?
I have seen, far, far worse than what is going on at the moment, and that is with a fully fit squad.
Do you seriously think changing Levy will make players becoming less injury prone? It is just unfortunate that all the injuries have happened to all the better players.
Honestly I am astonished with a lot of our so called supporters on the board that have thrown in the towel so easily.
Modern supporters I suppose, want everything now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not a modern supporter but I've always gone to Spurs expecting them to turn up. Expecting at least a semblance of fight. No strikers is one thing, but you then make it really hard to score which we haven't. Why is it plastic to not want to watch capitulation? I used to feel invested in the club, through thick and thin since 1963 when I first adopted Spurs to 1966 when I started going, in a family of Spammers. Hardly plastic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Constant moaning will change nothing. You should know better, you have seen some decent teams, like me, but you have also seen some rubbish ones. It comes with the territory of supporting your club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You constantly moaned about Poch didn't you? It changed. Not down to you but it changed. As it turns out it appears it has changed for the worse. And I reiterate, I can and will follow Spurs (and spend a frigging fortune in doing so) so long as they turn up and ideally, play like they meant it.

to be fair Sandy
we're wanted everything for a very very very long time
and the frustration is that all these stupid decisions along with poor injuries are setting us back a good 8-10 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get supporters have wanted things for a long time. But it is what it is. To say it will set the club back 8-10 years is nonsense. Spurs still have some very good players. And I would reckon next season, if they get a bit more luck with injuries, they will do OK.
The league is not that strong, Chelsea were thumped at home by Bayern, are they also going to be set back 8-10 years? They themselves for all of their money have had a few years in and out of the CL. That is how football works.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and also, I'm not referring to the results setting us back 8-10 years, I'm talking about the lack of investment in the squad
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There will I am sure be some investment in the Summer.

I moaned about Poch, because he had had five years and won nothing with probably the best set of players Spurs have had for 20 years, and that were at their peak.
Bit different to now, where most of that team have either left or are injured. A rebuild is underway, so will give the new manager time. If after five years if he is thee that long, and Spurs have still not won anything, then I will start having a moan at him.

How is a rebuild underway?
Hardly anything has changed and there won't be many signings (if any) this summer.
That figure comes from scientists at the country's public health body, the Robert Koch Institute, and is set against the context of there continuing to be no vaccine nor specific treatment available for Covid-19.

The best thing for us would be no Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For a start, potentially 15-17 games LESS to be played in the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry but purposely not wanting to be in Europe is the most stupid thing i've heard.
European football generates more money to (in theory) be spent on squad improvement during transfer windows.
At the very least, it gives the younger players an opportunity to get experience if its a competition you really don't want any part of to rest first team.
It's giving away your ability to prioritise how you wish and chance to develop players for what? There is no guarantee that no European football gets you a domestic trophy that's nonsense.
not signing anyone in 2018 transfer window was what turned me. underlined, bold and italics when he sacked Poch. point of no return when he then hired Jose.

Yeah because the past 5 years of CL football have really brought in players
Uh huh, give the youth games - Like Parrot
Liverpool did it a few years back and it worked out brilliant for them. Same for Chelsea.
Less games, get the players fitter, we've got no decent youth players coming through anyway. Avoid long trips to facking Russia and Turkey.
One year without Europe is fine by me if it means we get a stable team playing decent football without horrific injury lists.
Plus, all our PL games will be on a Sunday. No thanks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
to be fair Sandy
we're wanted everything for a very very very long time
and the frustration is that all these stupid decisions along with poor injuries are setting us back a good 8-10 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get supporters have wanted things for a long time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Levy and José have both said there will be no overhaul.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I moaned about Poch, because he had had five years and won nothing with probably the best set of players Spurs have had for 20 years, and that were at their peak.
Bit different to now, where most of that team have either left or are injured. A rebuild is underway, so will give the new manager time. If after five years if he is thee that long, and Spurs have still not won anything, then I will start having a moan at him.

Hardly anything has changed and there won't be many signings (if any) this summer.

The best thing for us would be no Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For a start, potentially 15-17 games LESS to be played in the season.

No thanks.
