It’s a mental idea that we wait until Monday.
Why? Because of one OF game out of at least 4 in a season? Ludicrous.
Either we close down large gatherings or we don’t. Not make an exception for one regardless as to how big it is, because it won’t finalise the league.
I don’t even think we can put a date on us reopening the leagues either. Italy in hindsight should have locked down at least two months ago and there is no tangible end in sight for them. We’re at least a month behind the curve with Italy.
The games will likely go ahead.
Sorry but the fact is that the government wants and needs people to catch this disease now.
They want it to plateau at its peak rather than spike. In order to do that, you need to get a large number of people being infected earlier and then have drastic containment to keep it level.
The whole contain and then delay phase thing is an absolute sham and doesn't make logical sense.
Draw a graph with a spike and a graph with a lower but flatter plateau covering the same number of people and you'll see what I mean. They need more of us to catch it now.
Yeah that's my thoughts too, we're about a month behind Italy and look at how bad it is there so it's almost as if we're not learning any lessons from that and want the same to happen here.
i have sympathy with the gov. There is no easy option. Accused of being nanny state versus accused of brutality as people die alone and unattended in corridors.

It's impossible to do the right thing here. I think they've been fairly open about their plan. Folk just haven't worked out the implications.
It's hard for folk to self isolate too.
So many either have very mild symptoms or none at all.
I've got a cough and have the doctors in an hour for an unrelated thing.
Going to be some buzz in that waiting room.
Ive got very mild symptoms.Sore throat, headache, slight cough.
Feel like a bit of a dafty going into the docs for it but on the other hand dont wantae infect anybody.
Burden the NHS or infect others.

Ita alright. Happens to every guy now and then
If you have any symptoms you need to stay indoors, going to your GP will achieve nothing whatsoever.
Daughter has a cold, bad cough, no fever. Had it a while. Was in Berlin February. Is it corona, doubtful? She’s been off school latterly but thinks she’s working at the restaurant tonight Thinks she’s going to a party tomorrow Way too many people walking about coughing and not catching and in denial.

Yeah this is the worrying thought.
Without totalitarianism people will do as they please. Bunch of guy i know are planning on going out to watch the game on Sunday.
Think ill give it a miss
Missus took her 90yo old dear to a funeral yesterday. Crem, home gathering, church, golf club. 400 largely over 60s greeting, greeting, hugging, kissing packed into several places too small for any distancing. Not one fcking care in the world. Show people how much you care / it’s what you do etc. Missus is at the stage of thinking maybe it would be better for her OD to catch it and get it done.

Hate to say it mate but a few of them will probably die as a direct result.
I'm also not totally buying the pre-existing conditions thing. Early deaths apparently all elderly and with underlying issues. Yet thete was no community transmission.
I'm finding it hard to believe that all these sick and elderly hospital patients had either recently holidayed by Lake Como or had received mysterious visitors from the Levant.

There’s a more than decent chance that many thousands are already carrying it and not showing the signs of any real illness. It’s believed that most who catch it might not even know.

When you put it like that its weird to think how much turmoil its causing. Its that serious most people wont even know they have it.
Granted ts the older population but just weird to think that if there was nobody older than 60, then generally there would be no problem at all.

Hard to believe that hospital visiting has not bee curtailed yet, and yes there is a certain inevitability that more than 50% of us will catch it, all the governments are trying to do is spread that over a longer period of time
