At least this break gives Injured players a chance to get fit and for others to recover from a hard season. Jonny now ok after his injury. Pleased to hear that Shabani who suffered a cruciate ligament injury early season in the Carabao Cup is now running and kicking footballs. Surprised they aren’t using this time to permanently fix Traore’s shoulder, whatever that takes

Fosun have donated 1,000 masks and 1,300 protective suits to Wolverhampton hospital

Well done Fosun. ๐Ÿ‘

The global stock market crash has wiped literally billions off their portfolio of investments worldwide, to still donate £230 worth of cheap paper products is a fantastic effort.

Agree lone wolf. What hospitals need right now isn’t practical help, it’s sarcasm

Latest plan to come out of the Premier League is to restart games on June 1st and finish the remaining fixtures in 6 weeks flat. Can’t see that date being feasible but I guess it’s the last timescale that would enable next season to start on time

Agreed DJ. It isn't a plan the Premier League need right now, it's negativity. ๐Ÿ‘

To be fair, the pictures I saw were of numerous large boxes being loaded for delivery. I had the impression they'd sourced them from abroad. I don't want to be a sceptic at a time like this, and I do believe that Foson are quite philanthropic at heart. The posts from Geo, their CEO are welcoming.

The Scottish government has today announced that they are wanting our island ferries to be for transport of supplies, plus essential travel for islanders only. This is a huge relief, as it has been something I've suggested on local forums etc lately. We won't get complacent, but that stretch of water between us and the mainland could be a very useful barrier.

Of course that doesn't stop be worrying about sons and grandchildren down in Wombourne. We must all be careful, and try and minimise contact with others outwith our families. This will make it harder for the virus to escalate, as it has done in Italy, and will hopefully ease the pressure on our health workers.

* outwith is a Scottish term. Isn't it wonderful?

Islands probably have a good barrier to prevent the virus arriving. But I guess they could make the virus more difficult to avoid if it did arrive

So much here has shut down anyway. I think there will be caution for a good while yet too. I'm relieved that this step has been taken.

UEFA have officially confirmed that the Champions and Europa League finals have been postponed from their scheduled May dates. No new dates have yet been set

The National League and most other non league competitions have been declared void for 19/20 and the current positions will be deemed the final ones. If that is ratified by the football league then Barrow and Harrogate would be eligible for promotion to League Two. Fylde and Chorley (!) would be relegated.

Whether that is accepted by the efl will depend on how they decide the 19/20 season is ended. Would the bottom two teams in league two now be relegated, that’s Morecambe and Stevenage, or would an extra two teams be added or would the same 24 play again next season. What I hope is that the leagues finish properly, whenever that can be

dont see how it is in anyway fair to have european qualification, promotion and relegation on a shortened season.
if the season is null and void then that is what it is and we start again as the position last august.

On Friday the Premier League will further discuss proposals for the rest of this season. The idea that’s gaining traction is for the rest of the games to be played behind closed doors between May and July. That’s a financially driven idea because the tv contract for this season ends on 16 July with the new one starting on 1st August. If the season doesn’t end by 16 July then the tv companies are entitled to a refund of up to £762m

The Premier League have suspended fixtures indefinitely today but have confirmed that the 19/20 season will be finished as soon as it is safe to do so. Completely the correct decision in my mind. Let’s not worry about next season until this one is finished

UEFA are hoping that the main leagues in Europe will recommence in June or July (doubtful in my opinion)

They are therefore looking to schedule a 3 week period in August when the Champions League and Europa Leagues will be played to a conclusion. If teams are unable to admit fans then the games would go ahead behind closed doors.

Money rules and they would need to pay a big refund to the tv companies if these tournaments aren’t completed before next season starts
