Really it should be awarded to Liverpool as they clearly were gonna win it
However this creates a precedent as on this basis you have to reach a decision over European places, relegation and promotion etc
I really think the season should be resumed whenever it becomes possible. This could eat into the time required for the next full season of course so it’s very difficult to reach a satisfactory solution.
Null and void is not an option IMO.
The best option I've heard is for existing league positions to stand, but no relegations. Top 2 teams promoted from the Championship downwards, and a 5 team relegation from the PL next season.
There is no solution that will satisfy everyone, disrupting future seaseons/competitions just to complete this one is daft, so we should apply the KISS principle; Keep It Simple Stupid.
Cancel 2019/20 Season.
Start 2020/21 Season with everyone in the League they currently occupy.
Move on.
Just start the next season with all the points from this one...
Ideal world we get it done over the summer and start next season maybe a month late.
Although it’s more than likely we might not see football played again this year so who knows
Cancel it. Nullify and strike it from the records. Seems best all round.

Yep. Then we can all start again as planned in August and teams like Liverpool will start with the advantage that they earned

This is what I think will happen, however when this will happen I have no clue
I'm hoping July/August, 10 games over 40 days
Give the players a few months off now and then resume when hopefully this dies down.
Just think Beer, Footy, and the sun
I think they should wait to see how it pans out, Euros should be cancelled and leagues around Europe finished when they can finish.

Yeah I suppose this is the other option if need be. Start again from August - November if possible. Start the new season in, say early December (minus the league cup). Euros in late 2021. Also helps prepare for the winter world cup in 2022.
Dont think anyone would have an issue with that.
I think both options would be wrong. But if you had to pick one and they were the only two, then null and void would be the better. It’s not fair on so many teams to make the current positions final.
If the league resumes in say the summer, what will happen with players out of contract at the end of June and transfers?
Should this also be suspended. Clubs could be significantly strengthened or weakened by the time the season resumes

The current system of promotion and relegation is not set in stone. It's simply a gentleman's agreement between The EPL, the EFL and the National League.
Any of the 3 club blocs could simply decide not to vote anyone in for a year and pretty much start another season again from scratch.
End the season on current points but suspend all European competitions indefinitely.
The season should resume with a proviso to finish asap.
If it eats into next season's timetable consider the below steps.
- reduce the number of international breaks (each one is about ten days
- cancel the midseason break for 20/21 season
- cancel the league cup for 20/21 season
- scrap FA cup replays for 20/21 season
There are plenty of levers available to compact the 20/21 season by 3 months minimum.
-
The scenario being mostly thrown around is for Liverpool to be crowned champions, no relegation, Leeds and WBA promoted, then 3 relegated the next 2 seasons, suppose champions league, Europe places will stay as is, but not sure

but what about promotions from other leagues
Teams have invested and banked on going up
This is why forgetting the PL for a min the season should be finished.
Also who is to say we won't have a corona repeat next year. Some folk will want the league voided every time there is an outbreak depending of course the position of their team
That is why you should just put the season on hold and carry on when it's safe to play
All clubs agree that it becomes a 66/67 game season by combining this season with a new one, we start at 0 points, and then each club at the end is deducted the gap in points compared to the 1st place (Liverpool) as it stands right now.
Nah, this hasn't been done yet surprisingly, not a mention anywhere.

nah that would be a mess, season needs to be finished
I reckon the season will be finished eventually and then the knock on effect will straighten out over a handful of months next season.

geez agreeing with Cinci
The season should just be annulled. No prizes given out. It would set an awful precedent if titles were awarded, if they had not been won. You cannot just relegate teams if they have only played two-thirds their games.
Season should just end now. And next season starts as soon as possible.
