Completely different situation to WWII but in terms of the scale and size of the event, then yes it's got to be the biggest thing since that.

It is a war, thousands are dieing. Wars are not just about guns, bullets and bombs.

It’s correct to call it a war - war doesn’t just mean tanks on a distant battlefield.

It’s a battle against something that threatens all of us and we can win or lose this war dependent on our actions.

This I'm on the front line working from home , helping the economy continue.

The economy died last September, the 17th to be precise, when the Federal Reserve once again opened the taps to help the continually failing/illiquid banking sector, long before Covid was a 'thing'.

What a coincidence.

A war can mean a sustained campaign against an undesirable situation or activity. In this case we are all waging war against the coronavirus.

So we are in a war.

Does feel like the world is crumbling bit by bit. Really scary stuff, but clearly going by the news, some people just won't give up their precious lifestyles, even if it puts others at risk. The Bondi beach news clip was just ridiculous. Not to mention Scottish pubs refusing to close and dozens of people in them.

Still, never mind, at least the BBC won't change their views on football, with yet another pointless article on Klopp this morning. They obviously still think anything Liverpool is all that matters.

You’ve just made that up but that’s okay.

I’m not sure when this is all over I’ll be telling people I was on the front line like Eddie when my only battle was to find toilet roll in Tesco and what tv show to watch,

Each to their own though I suppose

There's nothing you/we can do that will make the slightest difference to the economy bud.

Why Jesus wept? I have just given one dictionary definition of what a war is.

Ways the current situation is like being at war: we have to stay indoors because it's not safe, food is more scarce than usual.

Ways the current situation is not like being at war: literally everything else.

I'd personally rather face coronavirus than conscription or being blown up.

Food is not scarce just difficult to get to the people that need it, too many greedy fackers out there

Sandy be pleased, the government have nationalised the railways, something Corbyn wanted to do

posted on 23/3/20

It is more scarce to those who can't get hold of it. Doesn't matter that it's been caused by morons stockpiling, fact is that people haven't been able to get hold of their normal food shopping. Ergo, food is more scarce.

Granted, now that idiots have done their stockpiling, in theory they shouldn't have to do it again. So hopefully the craziness will subside a bit in the next few weeks and delivery schedules will return to something approaching normal again.

The country has become completely nationalised now. Something Corbyn wanted and the Tories said was not possible, and it would bankrupt the country. Basically everybody is being propped up by the State now.

Fast forward two months, and the Tories have done exactly what Corbyn wanted.

Yeh it is brilliant it was going to bankrupt the country, and now the Tories have gone even further. Shows you what a nonsense the media have been since Corbyn was elected. Onslaught after onslaught, day after day, for four years, now the Tories have done exactly what Corbyn proposed, and not a peep from the right wing press.

Talk about brainwashing the masses.
