Nobody knows.

No they don't Hector, but some might have ideas?

I reckon we're carry on from where we left off March next year or maybe January February time.

I dont think we will see anything further this year.

How that leaves the open competitions I have now idea but really completing these things seem pretty insignificant to me when we look at what is happening in the world.

How is your health 52? Are you locked away?

It will be another 12 months in my opinion. That will only count for local events.

Anything that requires international travel will take a lot longer. Will any country want to risk the potential of another outbreak by allowing other nations in?

Follow the Emirates stadium example and deploy crowd noise

When there is a break for so long, the reality is that those teams aren't the same anymore. It'll be like pre-season if or when the season finally starts again, and frankly, nobody cares anymore.

Let Liverpool have their title and end the season, if needs be.

Id like to see the bigger clubs dip in and 'adopt' smaller clubs

the more this year is delayed the more logical it is to just end it. declare champions and relegate the teams in the relegation zones. why punish the teams that are doing well to appease the teams doing badly?

I think that certain sports simply wont be able to survive

Cricket must be in serious danger. Rugby I think have basically shut down everything below the premiership and as a result there have to be clubs going to fold.

The reality here is that the VAST majority of "clubs" for whatever sport rely on spectators paying not tv money to survive.

People need to get this one thing right however. IT'S NOT ABOUT LIVERPOOL'S TITLE. for football there is an extremely high risk now that we will lose a lot of teams.

I believe the swiss side sion sacked several players who refused to take a pay cut off their contracts.

Barnet laid off everyone bar playing staff who were contracted and stated they were losing 100k per month before this started . (again contacts = obliged to pay)

These obligations don't go away nor do rents, taxes etc.

I can see us lose an awful lot of clubs if we cannot restart sport, but equally i can see far far more job losses in tourism, retail and hospitality that are just going to be seismic.

the clear issues are ones of public safety and treatments for this drug.

for example if you can be tested as being "immune" cos you have the antibodies to show you are then I suppose you can do what you like. If there is an anti viral drug that will assure the vast majority who contract it will survive and turn it to mild from serious then agai nthat helps.

But the weak, sick and elderly will be locked down for months and months til a vaccine comes to pass.

I personally reckon btw sports where tv money is in danger will be pressurised to start back up.

Lets face it guys the joke on sky sports last night of watching people play video game of F1 shows how bad it is.

The power of the gaming industry and the TV firms will show IMO. this season will be completed in june behind closed doors IMO.

Boris has done so little to bring in or enforce a lock down or social distancing that theres no way imo this will be anything but another italy.

Agree with all that mpreinjured. But I was just keeping to sports, football in particular for the forum.
I think it may alter things we haven't thought about, changes in our way of live un imagined.
But I do not have the intelligence to forecast in what ways.

I have always said that the only thing that will determine how sport proceeds in these times are the guys who control the finances.

Even playing behind closed doors is risky as how do you do you run training without exposing playing staff and their members to illness.

You can play behind closed doors for 1 or 2 matches, you cant do it for 10 matches.

But I imagine the TV companies will find a way to force government to play behind closed doors even with the dangers associated with it.

If this goes on until the new year and then clears up I wouldn’t be against just resuming the season from where we were. Not sure what this means in terms of transfers/contracts mind.

If the UK can get to a stage where the NHS is running well and can handle to number of covid patients (I'd imagine that's several months) then if clubs can test players and staff and if all clear they should be able to play behind closed doors relatively safely.

If it does Lambeau what happens if teams have bought and sold players in the summer?
They would have a different eleven.

That was sort of what I was alluding to in my final sentence. Don’t think transfers should be allowed if the season is going to resume.

Yeah I think that's where we will be early next year

I can see transfer window being binned for a year. Teams will be able to buy as and when required. Out of contract players in June will be allowed to move on or extend while clubs will be able to buy.

Can't see many deals happening though.

Werner for example will probably want to stay at home during this crisis.

Football fans can stop following teams they are not local to. Don’t spend £65 on a PL club shirt to wear while watching a team on a stream.

Get out and support your local side, don’t be plastic whanchors!

Lived in Sheffield now for over half my life and would go games with the Mrs to Sheff Utd when they were struggling in league one when I didn’t have an Everton game. Same as Rotherham, but never Wednesday.

Support your local teams!!

I think people just need to actually look first at italy and why its so bad.

They basically were asleep for perhaps 3 months I don't know how long and writing off covid cases are ordinary flu/pneumonia.

They have managed by this to infect the rest of europe via tourism (would have spread anyway but there you do) and have managed to overwhelm their medical system.

lets be clear. they have 5,476 deaths or in other words 13.5% of the number of people they KNOW had the thing. nearly 60,000 infected

30% of people who get this require hospitalisation.

think about it.

the NHS will be over whelmed. The whole point of isolation and lock down is delaying the spread enough that the thing doesn't swamp us.

the problem is we have been too slow and too stupid about it. Boris didn't take it seriously and suddenly changed tack only a week ago?

lets just look at numbers

Total cases
5,683

New cases
665 last 24 hours

UK deaths
281

5% death rate so far. The minute we run our of ventilators and ability to care in ICU this will climb.

This is really serious for those who get it bad.

Let’s look at pro/semi pro and are they struggling?

Or just keep watching a stream and don’t mourn the death of your local team.
