I was listening to TAW earlier they were saying that Frulough is more commonly used in America so maybe they didn't think it would be as badly received as it was, but you'd have thought they'd have gauged opinion in the UK first.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah American sports clubs get the tax payer to pay for loads over there. They do it all the time with stadiums.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Furloughing in the states in 30%
Also the tax payer pays way lower tax than over here
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but it’s still more common for sports franchises to use tax payer money.

Levy opening himself up for a lynching now

If he thought he could charge 62,000 people to watch it at the lane he’d put it on
I do think the original comment makes sense, though.
Liverpool have risen to the summit of the game under FSG.
They’ve made 1000 great decisions and a handful of bad ones - all of which seem to have been corrected.
That’s what you want from a board.
Of course they are. No money coming in and the same outgoings
--------------------
Is there no money coming in though? Genuinely asking as I dont know the details, but as far as I know sponsorship and TV money has not been affected (yet). They're missing out on matchday revenue but for the top PL clubs that is surely a fraction of what they earn.
Again, anyone who is more in the know feel free to correct me, but I really dont see any reason why clubs like Spurs and Liverpool chose to do this other than trying to scrounge a bit of money that they dont really need.

Dunno if it helped but I’d written to Peter Moore’s myself.

Oh I'm sure he took a huge notice of what you had to say, with you being such a highly respected poster on JA606.

we would all assume so.
however it could be indicative of a lot of clubs that are looking about very nervously and who have just listened to the backlash and decided to quietly just cut elsewhere.
with respect to tv money. my understanding is this seasons is already paid.
the issue is looking forward to next year not being paid in full or at all if it doesn't start on time means every one of them will have 100s of millions of outgoings and no income.
we are only months from bust here.
I felt lfc scraping round for 3 or 4 mil in government money (max) was low. but while it was we all need to wake up a bit to what's coming.
if liverpool and spurs cant keep going how far is the brink for 90% of clubs
