Not very awesome. Why would Liverpool, who are 25 points clear, be entered into a playoff? That's just stupid.
The league will be won in less games than the playoffs, so it doesn't make sense.
I’d rather see Mourinho in a blender
If this happens then we would have a bye to the final and a 4-0 head start.
What would be awesome is you know finishing the league the way like we do every season.
Over a 38 game period in front of thousands of fans.
If we have to wait 6 months to do so then do be it

I think with so few games left it would be better to carry on with the current plan to just get it over with, behind closed doors, as soon as it is safe to do so.

Not for me.
I don’t see how doing anything but the norm be fair and a competition has to be fair all the way through otherwise what’s the point of it.
For instance I don’t see how we can play a NLD away in front of 60k arsenal fans ( yes the turn up for this game ) but they can play away in a empty ground against us.
Like I say if it takes 6 months then so be it unless you go the only other route and void the season completely and start fresh but that’s not a good idea

Why? The whole point is that 1st plays 8th to get the (theoretically) easiest chance to reach the semis and then 1st plays the winner of 4th vs 5th again to avoid the 2nd place team if possible until the final.
If Liverpool lose to 4th, 5th or 8th, and don't reach the final, that's their own fault.

Yes, I completely see your point but I still think it's the fairest way, which is why most leagues are going with this approach. There simply isn't time to wait until mass gatherings are allowed.

I don't fear it but why should the season passed, the work the players have put in, being far better than everybody else be scrapped in place of a playoff? It has no benefit apart from giving the teams who didn't perform well throughout the season a chance, which isn't a fair way to determine the league, hence why it is not the option they're going with.
I know this method is a little harder for some teams but would it not be fun to watch plus quicker than doing things the normal way?

1st plays 8th, the weakest team in the top 8 according to the seasons you're talking about. That's the advantage they gain.
In the semi finals 1st would play 4th or 5th rather than 2nd or 3rd. That's another advantage.
It is more fair than you're giving it credit for.

Of course it would be fun but that isn't how the competition works. They can't just change the competition. At least not without agreement of all member clubs, which obviously Liverpool won't agree to.

I know it probably wouldn't happen but if it was on the table as the quickest and most exciting way to finish the season, why not? If it was a choice between this, voiding the season or waiting until 2021 to resume the season as normal, why not choose this?

Crazy idea
Why on earth would Liverpool want to put their whole season at risk over the lottery of a couple of games - Brian Clough once said

Liverpool have won the Title this year by right, it’s a stupid idea to suggest the now enter a lottery just to confirm that

Liverpool could just decide not to play any of their games and win it, to be fair. If City manage to win all their games, then we can have a decider. How's that Wahl bro?
