Could also work against them due to the lengthy break with no matches.
It's very possible that UEFA tell them that they won't be able to enter teams if they can't demonstrate how their league is unplayable in comparison to the others. Their decision still needs to be ratified by UEFA anyway.

So lets say Liverpool play Ajax next season. It's the CL semi finals, Liverpool at that point have played say 65 matches in the last 12 months and Ajax have played 40.
Does that not massively benefit Ajax??

Possibly. But rustiness earlier in the season could prevent them from getting that far in the first place. That's what I mean, it could work both ways.
Dutch league are holding current league positions.
How they choose to end their season is their business.
The team’s that merit CL/el football will get it.
I don’t see the big deal about this.

Most significant is that Ajax are not champions. The league has no winner this season, and no relegations and promotions.

Doubt it’ll give them that much of an advantage seeing as they have vastly inferior squads, and budgets, to the best teams in Europe.

I do. You cant half abandon a season and avoid some places e.g. euro spots while not giving other places - champions/promotions. All Dutch teams should be banned from next seasons European competitions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Naah, if UEFA don't approve they will be given a chance to reconsider.
This happening right now in the Dutch league is the best thing that could have happened for the big leagues. They’ve now got a case study to see how badly it can go.

Dont declare chamption/promotions/relegation and use current spots for the CL/EL places. Simple. Doesnt matter what solution you choose, some will benefit, some will lose. There is no fair for all solution.

There were declarations all round.
Title was not given on the basis that the two top teams could not be sufficiently split, that's a declaration and it was declared there would be no relegation or promotion. All in line with what UEFA guidelines provide.

If the Govt have banned such gatherings, then how do games take place. Its not just 22 players on a pitch. A game would required many many support staff, not to mention precious health professionals, numerous TV & media . Can you imagine a league played out behind closed doors and not televised, attended by media or radio? It would be worthless.
UEFA cannot argue with a Govts decision to ban such gatherings. Try telling anyone that a Govts actions in the face of this crisis are overriden by a football association. Someone may once have said football is not about life and death its more important than that, but back in the real world football is the least of many peoples worries.
