Whatever happens if the league and authorities deem it "safe" to play and players or PFA say "hang on - no chance are we playing until we have a vaccine or the threat has somehow miraculously gone away" I would happily accept this too.

Could not give a toss when football returns honestly seems all irrelevant at the moment, but of course these money grabbers will want there pound of flesh sooner rather than later, said at the start of this that London should have been locked down completely, still not happened would have saved many lives
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Football is a business and its not just the players and the owners, who probably total abou 50 staff. Spurs employ something like 3500 people at the new WHL, there are associated business such as TV / Radio & catering. Hundreds of local jobs and pubs fried chicken shops etc who all depend on football taking place, fans coming and spending their money.

People love to single out football as some sort of evil but its just business and like ANY business, this lock down cannot go on too long otherwise the viability of many businesses will be at risk.

This fact is lost to most of this site.

Ultimately most people are just giving opinion that suits their club while at the same time accusing others of doing just that.

I feel sorry for the bloke that won the 50-odd million on the lottery and can't go anywhere.

Yeah I'd be fuming if I were him.

A return to play formula will involve the PFA and players from the beginning

I don't think anyone has been hit harder by this tragedy than the bloke who won £50m on the lottery.

I wonder how quickly people will get bored with behind closed doors football. I imagine initially it will be nice to have something on, but it will be so soulless.

Pretty sad for the Liverpool players to win it with nobody around. I doubt there would really be much celebrating even given the current climate.

In an ideal non TV world I would personally be happy to restart this season at the same point we ended it, next year with crowds in. Obviously, this is not plausible though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's all so pointless, may as well just abandon this season, I know all the pros and cons, but totally pointless
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Providing its safe what's the problem, it's still 11 vs 11 and its a way to get the season finished

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not fair in shape or form, you can not fairly relegate clubs under these circumstances etc. It would also take vital public services away from where it is really needed. Football really isn`t that important.

I can`t see fans being allowed into stadiums any time soon, which will be truly awful and a complete waste of time, they may as as well not bother, it would be nothing more than resuming football for the sake of it and driven solely by money.

Football fan who hates football Think you need to find a new hobby/passion/interest

posted on 27/4/20

Hardly think he is saying he hates football. Simply that he just doesn’t care much for it at the minute - due to a global crisis with many losing people they know or loved ones. Still football forum seems hardly to place to be spending time atm if that is the case.

If footie restarts behind closed doors has anybody considered what an advantage it will be for Arsenal, City and West Ham who play infront of swathes of empty seats at almost every home game?

The real losers will be those who fill their stadium generate a decent atmosphere like Spurs and Palace.

Not at all, just think there are much more important considerations to think about at the moment, worrying when football starts is way down the back of the queue

OP-

Would be surprised personally if we see fans allowed back into stadiums before the end of next season.

Best case scenario we see a vaccine around the new year and then a further 3-6 months for it to be rolled out to the public I reckon.
