Are people that stupid to not realise players contracts expire at the end of June so the season can’t be continued if it isn’t finished by then.
Jesus Christ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or are people that stupid that they have been told on numerous occasions that the PL and UEFA have agreed contracts can be extended until the end of the season and still keep coming out with this point?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They mentioned it as a possibility once back in March, said there was a lot of complex legal issues regarding it and haven’t mentioned it since.
It’s a non starter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. They set it out and said contracts can be extended until the end of the season. UEFA and FIFA agreed.
It's done.
FIFA have confirmed contracts will be extended, adding the summer transfer window can be altered if needed.
FIFA's statement read: "Expiring player contracts usually end when the season ends, with a termination date that coincides with the end of the season.
FIFA have confirmed player contracts will extend past this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"With the current suspension of play in most countries, it is now obvious that the current season will not end when people thought it would.
"Therefore, it is proposed that contracts be extended until such time that the season does actually end. This should be in line with the original intention of the parties when the contract was signed and should also preserve sporting integrity and stability.
"A similar principle applies to contracts due to begin when the new season starts, meaning the entry into force of such contracts is delayed until the next season actually does start."
On the extension of the summer transfer window, FIFA added: "With regard to transfer windows, again, it is necessary to adjust the normal regulatory position to the new factual circumstances.
"At the same time, FIFA will try to ensure, where possible, an overall level of coordination and will also bear in mind the need to protect the regularity, integrity and proper functioning of competitions, so that the sporting results of any competition are not unfairly disrupted."
FIFA came to the conclusion after holding a meeting on Tuesday.
Numerous Premier League stars are out of contract in the summer, however, their future is safer after FIFA's latest ruling.
I want the season cancelled as it'll be funny from a LAL point of view.
But the reality is that I can see how horrendous that would be for Leeds and West Brom and probably Fulham, and the other lower leagues and Celtic - their players and fans.
So yeah - if we can get it finished somehow then that should be priority. If we can't, then my first sentence will soften any blow I feel.

It really wouldn't bother Liverpool fans as much as some people think. I accept I would have a laugh if I were in your place but everybody knows Liverpool were the best and I'd be surprised if that didn't continue into the next season anyhow.

Thing is... Not starting the football up again risks no additional lives.
Starting the football up again risks a large number of extra lives, unnecessarily, until a vaccine is available which won't happen for a year yet.
I do get all the commercial reasons for finishing the season, really I do. It has been my view since the start of the pandemic that the authorities would do everything in their power to finish the season to avoid an absolute mountain of lawsuits.
But the longer it goes on, the more it becomes the only conclusion I can reach that the season should be cancelled. It just shouldn't be a priority to restart sports fixtures, which ultimately don't matter, when it means a huge added risk to human life, increased pressure on public services (tell me crowds won't gather when Liverpool seal the title) and increased need for testing players when thousands of medical staff across the country can't get their hands on a test even when they desperately need one.
It really wouldn't be a good look, especially when football is already in a bad spot PR wise.
Obviously Liverpool should be awarded the deserved title but that is different to a couple points here and there in relegation and European spots with all the money on the back of that. Cant sort that stuff on average points system which isnt how football works is it.
Why should they be given a title they haven't won?

Sandy , Liverpool are going to win the title anyway mate. If the season finishes, just award it to them. But the season should resume anyway, so it don’t matter.

They have to win it Don, not just be handed it. I for one would not recognise then as title winners, if they were just handed it. And if you hand Liverpool the title, then you have to relegate the bottom three with 9/10 games to play, you cannot have different rules in the same league.
