Stoichkov was so under rated mate, what a player he was.
Iv always liked Gerrard to be honest. Swap him for Henry and I'd say that is pretty close to my list. Although I'd have to stick Teddy in there somewhere.
1.) Messi.
2.)Ronaldo.
3.)Ronaldhiño.
4.)Ron the fat one .
5.)Maradona.
6.)Van Basten.
7.) Johan Cruyf.
8.)Charley Cook.
9.)Henry.
10.)Zidanne.
off the top of me 'ead.
Greats whilst trying to avoid the usual suspects:
Iniesta
Riquelme
Maldini
v.Basten
Dalglish
Larsson
Lineker
Matthaus
Cruyff
Prosinecki
Platini
1) Messi
2) Maradona
3) CR7
4) R9
5) Zidane
6) Romario
7) Baggio
8) Barnes
9) Ronaldinho
10) Henry

2)Messi
3)Ronaldo (CR7)
4)Zidane
5)Ronaldo
6)Ronaldinho
7)Gazza
8)Baresi
9)Desailly
10)Cafu
Forgot to mention Bergkamp, but I got the 3 Ronnies in there.
I was thinking Romario to, but he was a little before my time. His best years were late 80s, early 90s. I was very young then so didn’t see him to much
I don’t think anyone can pick a top 10 without R9 ( fat Ronaldo in), would be a travesty wouldn’t it if someone didn’t put him in there
Best
Charlton
Law
Robbo
Ronaldo
Giggs
Kanchelski
Rooney
Berbatov
Hughes
Of course I'm a touch biased. But I saw all these live, most of the others would have to be TV choices
I'll just go for the best in my football watching lifetime, so some of the greats I'll be leaving out.
Messi
Ronaldo
Henry
Ronaldo (Brazilian)
Zidane
Suarez
Iniesta
Romario
Bergkamp
Shearer
Based on my time watching football:
1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Iniesta
4. Xavi
5. Robben
6. Drogba
7. Gerrard
8. Rooney
9. Yaya Toure

Misleading article, anyone remember before the PL era?
1. Messi/Ronaldo - I can't separate them as completely different players but the best attackers in the world for years.
3. Zidane
4. Ronaldo
5. Ronaldinho
6. Gerrard
7. Suarez
8.. Iniesta
9. Maldini

just listing players have seen in my life time, hence have not listed cruyff, pele, di stefano, puskas, etc
let me just say as a madrid fan, zidane is without doubt the most overrated of the "great" players often on these lists
people judge zidane on his performances for france at major championships, and a few standout performances for juve and madrid
he was never consistent at madrid, never dominated matches, and would go AWOL (like hazard) for months at a time
similar player to zidane in style and role ...but way more consistent and did it for a much longer time period...michael laudrup...who was also at least as skillfull as zidane

Personally I never knew how consistent Zidane was as whilst i watched him most weeks for Juventus and he was outstanding, i never seen him that much for Madrid as I only watched CL games, where he was also excellent. However I loved watching him play, the way he played the game was a joy, for me.

Rivaldo
Ronaldinho
M Laudrup
