Thing is, your mates aren’t being hypocrites in their actions. At worst they’re showing ignorance, or selfishness.
The hypocrisy is in a Tory voter posting an article about how other people are putting pressure on the NHS.
It’s fine to vote for what you believe in. Just don’t suddenly pretend to start caring about something you haven’t done in the past just because of guilt, shame or whatever.
Stay strong. Embrace your mistakes. No one will think any less of you in doing so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Learning from our mistakes is how we grow. And if we can't learn from this what's the point eh?
Even if it is hypocritical, it doesn’t make the point regarding the Tories any less valid.
People are s
Just popped into the local state park after they reopened yesterday with strict rules saying only passive recreation. No surprise to see folks sat down on blankets picnicking away on spaces of grass or the beach. s
Wish Edbo just hadn’t mentioned the Tories
Has anyone actually answered his question posed in the article, ie about hypocrites defying lockdown rules. It seems as if every post is about the bloody Tories
But theyre not breaking the rules in his article really. Tube thing is a bit daft but that's it.
Having a Tory voter whine about the NHS is laughable though.

Wow that really doesn’t sound like passive recreation, sitting down on grass is heavily into aggression recreation

Agree
It just gets really tiresome when every article somewhat covid related becomes a debate about the Tories. Admittedly they were mentioned in the OP
It’s always going to, though. You can’t really discuss the issues that surround it without taking into account the role of the state.
Couldn’t have been me mate I was in Hokitika that day, I found this stuff in my feathers, I didn’t take it, my brother gave it to me, I don’t know where he is now. π¦

My mate, a hard left-winger, Tory basher and supposed NHS enthusiast, put a post on insta today - showing me he’d travelled half way across London on the tube to drop his mate a birthday present and some DVD’s off.
Yet He’s questioned why I’ve voted Tory in the past due to the way they supposedly underfund the NHS

This thread is a mess, start to finish. Besides, the question Edbo asked has been answered. See Lexington's comment.
"travelled half way across London on the tube to drop his mate a birthday present and some DVD’s".. sounds like a f@cking Liverpool fan to me.
I can see where you're coming from Edbo. Part of the problem is the mixed signals we're getting:
"Only go out if it's essential"
"But KFC etc... are allowed to open for collection"
The reality is that we need to move towards re-starting the economy, which is happening, which will mean the 'essential' message has to be eased off. Just like how other countries are re-opening schools, churches, mosques now. Things can be done in a "socially distant" way that minimises the risks.
Sitting in a park - what is the actual problem with this, if you're away from others outside your household?
Dropping food off - bad idea to use the Tube, but if you can walk to the person's house then it seems fine to me.
Picking up a takeaway - assuming you're driving/walking there, what's the big deal? Yes there's a small chance you could cash your car, but we live in a world of risks and have to make trade-offs all the time. Seems like a tiny risk of someone crashing on the way to get their family bucket is probably worth it in terms of jobs and the economy...
By the way before people accuse me of being a lockdown rebel, since the lockdown started I have not sat in any parks, gone to anyone's house (to deliver food or anything else) or picked up any takeaways.
People can't even wash their hand properly.

All soaps work a little warm/ hot water to rinse helps.
Stay stay you lot.
Trump washes his hands of evrrything unpleasant that is attributed to him for 24 hours every day.
That takes some scrubbing.
Who's looking after Melania I wonder.
No need to keep washing your hands unless you are in potential contact with the virus anyway. If you are at home you don't need to go crazy washing hands as you won't be picking up the virus.
