that united team won the treble...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool won the treble in 01 and City won the treble last year. Liverpool when they wrap up the title will win another treble this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
THE treble, not a treble
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh ffs didn't see that
Fair play Earl
But what does winning those competitions have to do with the PL?
What are you babbling about?
What does winning FA Cup and CL have to do with the PL?
Well, if you finish in the top 4 of the PL you qualify for the champions league in the following season, so I suppose that's one link between the PL and winning the CL. Winning the FA Cup, well anyone can do that, you don't have to play in the PL necessarily, however it's normally a PL club that wins it.
Seriously, what are you taking issue with here?
So Spurs were the 2nd best team in England last season because they were runners up in the CL.
What are you babbling about?
And we were the best because 97 points AND a CL win.

best team in the prem era for me is peps city. one that smashed the records and averaged an insane points per game total for like 3 years. almost 200 points over 2 seasons. Not surprised you think its the weakest though
You think it's the strongest because it's convenient for you as a Liverpool fan to think so.
I think its the strongest because when i look at the teams across the prem years i believe it to be just that. certainly the best ive seen. Only things that let it down is how it was assembled and for how much etc along with their underperformance in europe.
Fair enough, you're being genuine.
Do you think man for man it compares to the treble winners?

Different eras so it's hard to say who is the best between the 3 of them. It's easy to say City are the best because of their huge PL totals, but are we saying that that treble winning United side wouldn't have risen to the competition, the way that this Liverpool team have had to? Under Ferguson I think they would, but back in the late 90's they did what was necessary to win a title over the main competition of Arsenal. And correct me if I'm wrong but they won 3 titles in a row. This City team haven't been able to do that yet. Likewise the 07-08 United team won 3 in a row and I'd have them as the best team of that decade.

The 00s must be the strongest decade overall out of the 3.
Wow, I've seen the new article. Guess who doesn't care?
Sitting back and absorbing pressure is not how you beat that City team though.
------------------------------------------------------------
It is if you do it properly, Sarri's Chelsea proved that. Played them twice on the back front & beat them once/was extremely unlucky in the LC Final. At their place he changed it up, had a go, and we got pasted 6-0
